Blackwood Blaze In-line Hockey Club is affiliated with Inline Hockey South Australia and Skate Australia. Blackwood Blaze In-Line Hockey Association runs an in-house competition at the Blackwood Recreation Centre between February and December. Players compete in U/11s, U/14s, U/16s, Senior B, Senior A and Social divisions. The club has produced many players and coaches who have represented South Australia and Australia in National and International Tournaments. Junior Hockey is played of a Saturday afternoon between 12.30pm and 5.00pm. There are three divisions; 11 & under, 14 & under and 16 & under. It is an inhouse league, so players at the start of each season are drafted into teams. The juniors train of a Friday night between 6.30pm and 8pm.
Senior hockey is played of a Sunday between 10am and 3pm. There are two divisons; Senior B and Senior A. Although this league is played only at Blackwood, it is not classed as an inhouse league. Players are able to compete for which ever team they like, form their own team and even other clubs compete in this league. Blackwood has a team in the B Grade league called the 'Raiders' which is a development team for players who are 15 years and above and for those players coming back into the sport. UniSA also competes in both A and B Grade and they offer training of a Friday night from 8pm for all senior players.
Blackwood also offers a social league of a saturday morning from 11.30am- 12.30pm which is a 'C Grade' division. It is a league offered for people new in the sport, parents and any players coming back into the sport. It is a very friendly league, social, lost of fun and non competitive.
During the summer months Pro League - for advanced players and teams.
Blackwood is a mixed competition with both boys & girls competing across all age divisions.
