This 24-hour comics zine documents Jessica’s first year as a graduate printmaking student, revealing her doubts about art theory, the usefulness of art, and the legitimacy of comics and zines (which she discovered during this year) as legitimate works of art. A personal zine in comics style, this should appeal to zinesters, comics makers, and anyone with an interest in art. Half-sized, 48 pages.

The second issue of Jessica's personal comic finds her enrolled in a different art school, working in the printmaking department, teaching, and still trying to make sense of it all. Half-sized, 24 pages.
$1.35 US/$1.75 International

The final (for now!) issue of Jessica's personal comic continues her adventures as a printmaking major in art school. Hand-tinted color cover, less panel-based and more text-based than the other two comics. 8.5” x 3.5”, 24 pages.

Covering the time period between September 2003 and March 2005, this issue of Anne's personal comic book includes work stories, an encounter with an animate snowman, a last-minute, surprisingly cheap vacation to Iceland (!), and a very moving piece about Anne's relationship to her breasts, tying in with her mother's double mastectomy. Booty is a zine I started reading when it was carried by the late, great Pander Zine Distro, and I'm happy to say that it is just as I've remembered it: smart, often funny, and with simple, cute art that tells its stories well. Half-legal, 16 pages.

Anne's twentieth entry in her long-running comic series is another long-delayed issue, spanning the two years between April 2005 and March 2007. It recaps the happenings of 2005 and 2006, with work woes, moves, and a trip to Las Vegas. Though Anne may have gone without making a comic for two years, she was still active in the art world, as shown by a story about a Cheap Art Show, where everything was a dollar and the art was presented on clothes lines! Another jam-packed issue. Half-legal, 16 pages.

There's a distinct artistic shift in this issue of Booty; while Anne Thalheimer's personal comic remains scrappy and simple, there's more realism here, and more organized page construction. Not bad, just different! It's an issue full of new things in Anne's life: she talks about her new business making and selling monster hats (which I saw at SPX and they are really cute), her new corporate job, yet another new address, and a new hobby refereeing her local roller derby league. There is also a piece about fear of pregnancy, which really struck a personal chord. Half-legal, 16 pages.
$2.35 US/$2.75 International

Spanning July 2008 to September 2009, the most recent issue of Anne Thalheimer's Booty series includes an hourly comic, a trip to Belfast with her mom, cat stories, Anne's love of minicomics and how they fulfill the need for instant satisfaction (I definitely feel this one!), and an emotional--if enigmatic--piece about recovery from violence and how it's never as complete as we think it is. Half-legal, 16 pages.

The latest issue of Alex Wrekk’s long-running personal zine is filled with travel stories, both original to this issue and reprinted from the Birthdays and Christmas one-shot. Cut and pasted in Alex’s iconic punk-inspired style, these tales of travel gone wrong, growing up in Salt Lake City, and encounters with incredibly rude people in the “straight world” (my favorite piece!) are a treat for both long-time fans of the series and new readers. Quarter legal, 40 pages.

This is a split written by my oldest zinester friend and me one summer day on my front porch. "The Road of Sand" is by Shae who used to do "Pomegranate" zine in the early 00's, and a few other zines, most recently "Tragikotatos." It's a travel story about a PA-to-FLA move, renting one's first apartment, and taking charge of one's own destiny. If you remember Shae's first zine you'll remember how great it was, well here's some more. "Breakfast at Twilight" is my zine; subtitled "a personal history 2003-2007" it deals with post-graduation breakdowns, working at Wal-Mart, the decision to move to Pittsburgh and all that came afterwards, falling in love, and making the tough choice to seek psychiatric treatment after the same problems kept reasserting themselves. By far, the most personal zine I've ever done. (This zine may be triggering for some readers due to frank discussion about mental illness and suicide.) If this split has a theme that theme would be MOVING, I suppose. Quarter-sized, 64 pages. (Only 1 copy left!)
$3.70 US/$4.50 International

TThis is my personal/political zine about Pittsburgh pride, a critique of the Icarus Project and other radical anti-psychiatry movements, and feeling disillusioned with writing after spending too much time around people who saw it as nothing but a business. Self-hate. Posicore. Quarter-sized, 32 pages.

Leann’s travel diary documents her journey to Chicago in January 2007 to take a writing class with cartoonist Lynda Barry (one of my favorites, too). On the way, she celebrates Xmas with family, bonds with her sister, explores art galleries, and trawls the Windy City. The drawings are filled with a certain rough naivete, not unlike those of Ms. Barry herself. Includes a Chicago travel guide for vegans and art lovers. Half-sized, 52 pages.

This is my mini-comic, which I wrote for the 2008 24 Hour Zine Thing. The first in a series, it documents the return of Jesus to Earth. With his trusty dinosaur steed and the help of a young boy, the big J fights evil beings sent by his nemesis, the Dark One. Quarter sized, 20 pages.
$1.35 US/$1.75 International

In the second installment of Jesus’ adventures on Earth, Jesus and his young disciple Patrick team up with Mor-Bot the Latter-Day Android. Meanwhile, Satan gets fired and takes it out on everyone’s favorite savior. Great for your Christian friends! Half-sized, 28 pages.

Maria's cute little comic zine provides a biography of every American president. Did you know Washington was the first white president? And that's just our first fact! Plus, a pre-election letter full of anger, anxiety, and... hope? Quarter-sized, 56 pages. (Only 1 copy left!)
