Introduction to poetry,

Poetry has been around for hundreds, maybe thousands of years. Most poets, like artists or any other marvel of his/her time was usually uncredited or ignored. It was only until years later that most became famous for their works, but obviously the dead can't accept praise so instead inspiration is born and new talents arise from the old. In the end, basically, most of us got interested in poetry through well-known names like Emily Dickinson and Edgar Allan Poe. Truth, those are mainly the ones that got me here, but they only began the desire for poetry. There are many other great poets, and some not so well-known world wise ones everywhere. Angst filled teens to suffering artists, welcome to a taste of poetry:

Emily Dickinson
1830 - 1886(?)

I'm nobody! Who are you?
Are you nobody, too?
Then there's a pair of us -don't tell!
They'd banish us, you know.

How dreary to be somebody!
How public, like a frog
To tell your name the livelong day
To an admiring bog!
