I'm a breeder in southern oregon enjoying the hobby of breeding and showing rabbits! I started about 3 years ago through the FFA and I have just begun traveling to different open shows throughout OR. My first rabbits were mini-rex, but about 2 years ago I was introduced to the Satin breed and now I am hooked. The varieties I have in the satins are chocolate, broken chocolate, black, broken black and now..lilac! ! I am also trying to get back into Mini-rex and I will strictly be raising black otters (and possibly blue eventually). AND satin rabbits can be used for meat purposes (my family butchers on occasion), so if you're interested in fryers or breeding stock please let me know. I'll probably have them coming out of my ears this fall, lots of litters planned!
Also..I consider all of my rabbits to be reasonably priced for show/brood. I will NEVER sell a rabbit for hundreds of dollars nor will I purchase for that much. I want people to be able to enjoy this hobby & aquire good stock without having to go broke doing it. This is a hobby, I never expect to make a profit off of this and I do not do it for that purpose. I love raising quality animals and of course it makes me very happy to have winning ones too!
The Satin~ This is breed that has many uses; breeding/showing, meat, and fur. They are a larger breed weighing in between 8-11lbs. They have a conformation resembling the compact breeds. The fur is normally what catches the eye! It is a beautiful shiny (sometimes almost translucent) and soft coat! They come in many varieties and they are absolutely my favorite!
The Mini-Rex~ A small "fancy" breed (3-5lbs) this breed has got the looks. They have beautiful "velveteen" coats and small compact bodies. They are an extremely popular breed on the show tables, whether it be in open shows or at a 4-H fair. This breed also can make great pets.
Please have fun looking around my site, where you can see my bunnies, what litters I have and what there is for sale, shows I'm going to be attending, and other random things. -Bobbi
WHAT'S UP??
My rabbitry has finally expanded! I now have a total of 26 holes! Whew, now I have some room to actually let my juniors stick around for a while before selling.
Also, my 4 black satin juniors are growing up nicely, though I don't know who I'm getting rid of/keeping just yet, I know that I won't be able to keep them all, so please let me know if you're interested! Their dam is a nice chocolate with 1 leg and their father was a beautiful black out of Hassenpflug's lines. And their half sister BKC's Sundown (out of same sire) already has 1 leg!
And I have 3 litters in the nest box! 2 satin litters; 10 babies in total (8 chocolate & 2 broken chocolate) and 1 mini-rex litter; 3 babies (1 black otter, 1 blue otter, and 1 broken black otter). Check out my litters page for more info.
