Turning The Garage Into A Family Room

Rockin' The Night Away
Well the framing is complete, the wiring all done, the insulation is installed, it must be time to put up the drywall.  We jumped in the pickup, shot over to Lowes and got 8 sheets of drywall which, of course, turned ot to be 2 sheets less then we needed.
It went up pretty easy.  The hardest part for me is cutting the holes for outlets and switches but I did pretty good this time.  We're going to panel the bottom 4 feet of the wall so we don't have to tape all the joints.  We'll still have about 11 joints to do.  Taping, as we all know, is an art, an art I have not completly mastered, at least according to Arlene, but we will see.
In response to our many requests here are some pictures of "the crew" at work.

Here is one of our "skilled craftspeople" using a T-Square and Utility Knife to cut the sheetrock to size.

Another of  our"rockers" preparing to fasten a piece of sheetrock with the Screwgun while standing on our new ladder.

Tommorrow we'll get the rest of the drywall and after the last 2 pieces are up we can start the taping.  The fun never stops!
