A thing of beauty is a joy for ever:
Its loveliness increases; it will never
Pass into nothingness; but still will keep
A bower quiet for us, and a sleep
Full of sweet dreams, and health, and quiet breathing.

My beautiful brindle Penny (often called my Precious Princess much to everyone's amusement!) Such fun I had showing her, so much so that I put off breeding from her till 2005 - how could I possibly take off that huge coat??!!? If I had realised the fun her 12 puppies would bring us, not to mention the many new friends, I would have done it so much sooner!!! One of my greatest pleasures is to watch her off-spring in the ring - see some photos of them below and links to their own web-pages.
Penny is now appearing in the Veteran classes

I've finally gone through all my scrap books and found some of Penny's critiques. They bring back many happy memories - her group wins, the 1st time I handled her to a CH show win, her stud book number, back in the ring after her litter and bang up to date with her BVIS. Missing are her puppy, Junior and club show RBIS wins (must have been before I started my scrap books). She is a joy to show and I love her very much!

1st Afghan Open D/B Birkhall Tuppeny Treat. Super girl who doesn't look her age (9 years) and moves like a youngster, so well made all through. Lovely head and expression, good reach of neck, ribbing well back. Holds her topline. Well made quarters.. good springy gait with ground coverage. BOB and Group 1.

1st Afghan Open D/B (5) Birkhall Tuppenny Treat. Quality dark bitch, super head and neck, very good top-line and tail set used correctly on her free movement, well presented and handled to the best advantage. BOB and Group 1.
Brian Doak
Hound Association of Scotland (CH) April 2004
2nd Open Bitch (10) Birkhall Tuppenny Treat. A very much smaller brindle bitch, suffering from far too much coat which hides her good shape. One of the best front assemblies here on the day. Feminine head. Moved with such purpose that she was a little uncollected at times.
Anne Mathers (Metewand)
Northern Afghan Hound Society (CH) March 2003
1st Mid Limit Bitch (6) Birkhall Tuppenny Treat. Pleasing head. Nicely balanced angulation fore and aft. Level top-line. Lovely feet. Moved very well and soundly indeed. Well presented and handled.
Patricia M Wells.
