Several years ago Mum was judging in Finland and when she and Danny returned home Danny kept talking about this beautiful Gold dog he had seen, CH Scaramis Solid Gold (see Past & Retired Page), so much did he go on and on and on about this dog that Mum suggested that if he like the dog so much why didn't we just use him at stud!!!  This silenced Danny for all of 5 minutes and then he was off and running, finding out all about Artificial Insemination, long phone calls to The Kennel Club, DEFRA and of course, Helena in Finland. 

The result arrived in May 2004 in the form of Birkhall Cloudberrry AI and her brindle sister Birkhall Lingonberry AI.  Mum and I are great fans of IKEA so the girls had to be named after Cloudberry Jam and Lingonberry Juice - delicious!!!  The girls were the first AI Afghans in Scotland, but by no means the first in the UK and Ireland. 

Cloudie loves life and we hope that in time she may grow up and settle down, well a little bit anyway :-)))  meanwhile she has won RCCs, CACIBs and Green Stars.  Alison Dowell's Brambles (Lingonberry) has qualified for Crufts on several occasions, been awarded her Bronze Good Citizen's Award (yes, a well-trained Birkhall - well there had to be one!!!) but perhaps her best acheivement so far has been to produce a beautiful litter by our CH/IrCH Metewand Calulo at Birkhall.    Tam - Ryedalison Rupesh at Birkhall, is our black masked gold boy from this litter.
