March 3, 2005
Well, the first episode of the Bionicle Paracosmos: The Sword is but the Focus is almost over. The tenth chapter (of eleven) has been posted! There is also now a topic for The Art of The Sword is but the Focus!
In addition, there is new stuff on the Culture page of the Reference section; the info from the old site has been transferred in, and a few new entries for Writings have been added! Check it out here: Culture.

Welcome to the newly launched website for the Bionicle Paracosmos!
This site was actually online for a while, with a different test format, using frames, and simply not advertised until now. This new format has just recently been finished, and it removes several of the old errors. Content from the old site isn't totally transferred over to this site yet, so please bear with me as that change is finished (the links in the Old News Articles won't work for a while).
The best news, however, is that the first episode in the Paracosmos story is launched! You can see the BZP topics here: The Sword is but the Focus, The Review Topic. Also, check out its page in the Timeline section, here. Enjoy!

Now that the error's been gone for a month, why don't I actually update? I actually deleted the frames page on accident the other day as I was collecting code for a new website I started; a simple list of my BZP topics, as well as a llist of other member's topics which I recommend: bonesiii_topics. The frames page is obviously back up thanks to my backing up of the site.
News on the stories now. I actually finished Epic 1: "The Sword is but the Focus", except for a few words I haven't come up with and things of that sort. I then charted out the first short story, as well as invented a few new enemies for the future, and charted out the basics for the other three short stories, and Epic 2. Then I finished writing Short Story 1: "The Folly of Fire"! So, good progress has been made. I also named the other short stories and the second epic, and remapped out how the storyline for the game (The Map of Mata Nui) will work. I also charted out the general direction the Paracosmos story is going through the Rahkshi Saga, and even the core story beyond that, all the way to what I plan on being the end.
Note, that none of those stories will actually get posted until I have finished Epic 2, and have enough of the game ready to post it when needed. All this is preparation.
Now to finish that last update...And it is finished. The bios for the Fiuwa, Inakko, Ruru, and Rau have been added. I also added another Paracosmos mask, the Noble Mua MO Silence, as well as a sketch of the Inakko merged with a Huna and Mua (turning it into a mask of both invisibility and silence).

It was not a mere file size problem. I am not sure what it was, but everytime I would try to edit the site, it would delete the file I was working on. I sent in an error report, and it does not seem to be doing it now, so hopefully everything is working fine. I had to cut the last update short prematurely just to get everything working; I had to delete several more files just to get the last news article online. All are backed up, however, and hopefully it will not happen again.
No time to finish updating now, however. There are bugs I still need to fix, but they'll have to wait.

Fixed a typo BZP member Gukko found. Added two pics of official pieces Gukko told me about, that resemble the Kuak and Milloba sea creatures. Added bios and pics of two official masks: the Noble Rau Mask of Translation and Noble Ruru Mask of Night Vision. Plus I have added two teaser Paracosmos masks: the Great Inakko Mask of Combination and the Noble Fiuwa Mask of Ductility. Those are not the best masks I have invented, and are only teasers. But it's a start. Finished going through the old news items and putting the right links in.
Apparently I am running into file size problems. I had to take down two pages that aren't linked to yet due to lack of content in order to edit the home page properly. I will investigate this.

Added a bit of content; a new item in "Writings": Tales of the Ri-Rali: Balance of Night. Also edited the description for The Illustrious Life of Onepu. Plus a few more code updates; the code that lets me link to specific sections like this isn't yet in every page, so over the next few updates, I will be adding that. And I plan to go back to the old news articles and add all needed links, but there is no time today.

Minor update. Checked through a few pages for typos mainly. But I also revised the Timeline section to get rid of the ESRS system; it just distracted too much from the content. It is still there in the source code for my reference. The list items for the Epics, short stories, and the RPG are now arranged in the correct order that I'll be publishing them. Also, I went through old news articles and made some references to actual new content be a link to that content. But that's not finished yet.

Just reordered how the code works, so there's only one frame instead of one for each section. This way the menu only loads once, and everything runs faster. No new content yet. However, I have virtually finished the first Epic, except for a final sum-up section, and doubtless a lot of revisions.

March 12, 2004
I have just finished setting up all the framework pages for every Reference section other than Places. All of the links to the pages without content have been taken off, though. Some minor rearrangements have been set up, and more code has been revised so that I can link to specific places on a page within the Reference section.
Now for the new content. In the "Rahi" section, the unnamed Snapper Lizard is now named Leku-atu. Its bio has been added to, and a colored sketch of Kewonga's pet Fikou has been added. Sketches of a few Plants, and their bios have been added to the Plants section. In Tools of Power, quick filler descriptions of all six Toa tools have been added, as well as bios of two less important mystical tools that have to do with everyday life on Mata Nui. Under "Culture", the subsection for Writings now has some descriptions of several Matoran works of writing. The biggest addition is to the "Trade and Economics" section. In Barter, a description of the history of the Barter system on Mata Nui is followed by the Rules of Barter that the Turaga set up to govern the system. The Protos section describes the money system that was set up when the Toa arrived, as well as the Rules of Proto Currency. (Later, I may include pics of each proto, which is basically a stone-like version of the Pirate LEGO coins, except with Matoran numbers on them, but that's not ready yet.) Finally, an unfinished list of products has been added to the Imports/Exports of Koros section.

March 8, 2004
Added an official picture of the Fikou Spider, from an old Build-it picture I had.
Also prepared the headings for more sections in the Reference Section. These are all the sections now: "Characters, Places, Rahi, Plants, Kanohi, Tools, Culture, Trade and Economics, Legends." "Everyday Stuff" has been changed to "Culture."

Revised some formatting code. I've added a temporary page that comes up instead of the site when I'm updating.
I have revised the system for the Timeline section, to use a numbering system I developed called ESRS, for Expandable Sequential Reference System. Basically, I assign numbers to items in a list, and if I need to add a number in between, I simply insert an item with a number that's between the items above and below, even if it's a decimal. The only thing that matters with this system is the order, not the distance between numbers. For example, the distance between "1" and "1.1" could be the same distance as "1.1" and "15". This way I don't have to go through and change the numbering everytime I add something in. I did this becuase I do want to have some sort of numbering on the Timeline, so it's easier to refer to a reference number, instead of saying, "you know, that one where this and this are true?" You do not have to pay attention to the numbering, it's mainly for my reference purposes.
The introduction to the Timeline Section has been updated, and the code for it revised.

March 3, 2004
I have added the framework pages for the Kanohi reference section. For now I only have a few official masks in there, and I doubt I'll add any Paracosmos ones for a while. Maybe a few of the least spectacular ones. Not sure. Anyways, the Kanohi section is divided into three sections, only one of which is up now; Well Known, Lesser Known, and Legendary. I've put in sections for the Kakama, Hau, Miru, Akaku, and Huna, just to fill up space. Plus I've scanned and uploaded some sketches of them, in the same drawing style as the Paracosmos ones to come.
I have also tweaked the design of the Links section so it's easier to read, and completed the framework of the Timeline section. That one will have the links to any epics, and to the game, when they're ready, arranged in chronological order, and mixed with official events in the right order. I finished most of the bios for the Rahi that are already up. BZP member Gukko built MOCs (My Own Creations) of some of the Rahi for me, and pictures of two of those (the Chogo and Lajhoata Bee) are now linked to along with my concept sketches.
------------------------------------------
March 2, 2004
I have now added a Reference section to the website. It will contain info such as character bios, mask explanations, etc, as well as any images I can provide (usually scanned sketches). The basic page is up, and I have now actually made the section for Rahi. The list is not complete, of course, but all of the Rahi that I had already uploaded images of to my brickshelf have bios on the Rahi Reference page now. Most of the bios are incomplete, though. I will try to add more detail soon.
I have scanned most of my sketches of Kanohi, and I will prepare a Reference section for them, but I may not actually upload that until the epic is ready. I have not decided. At the very least, I want to draw some official masks, and do bios of them, just to set the scene. Also, because within the Paracosmos, there is no distinction between official Kanohi and mine as far as the characters are concerned, obviously. Of the masks I will put up at first, only those classified as "well-known" will be there; there are many that are more mysterious, so I'll save those for later.
I have also revised some code in the website to make it easier to update often, and got more done on the epic.
------------------------------------------
March 1, 2004
The Legend of the Paracosmos added to home page.
------------------------------------------
February 29, 2004
I have begun work on the epic, and titled it "The Sword is but the Focus." It is coming along nicely. I have sketched and scanned three line-art illustrations for it, and plan to link to them in the story, as well as any others I'll make in the future for it.
The framework events for the first chapter of TMOMN are mostly completed. The graphics are not finished for a large chunk of the game, though.
Website rearranged. Intro on home page updated.
