Mt. Gilead Christian Church Statement of Faith:
The Christian Church /
1. Hear the Gospel. (Rom. 10:17)
2. Believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God (Acts 16:31; Mark 16:36)
3. Repent of Sins (Acts 2:38, 17:30)
4. Confess Jesus Christ Publicly (Rom. 10:10)
5. Be immersed for remission of sins and gift of Holy Spirit, in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Acts 2:38; Matthew 28:19)
6. Live a Godly life (Rev. 2:10; Peter 1:15, 16)
The Lord's Supper is observed each Lord's Day (Acts 20:7). We wear the name Christian (Acts 11:26). The spiritual and business affairs of the Church are directed by Elders and Deacons (Titus 1:1-5; Tim 1:1-13)
We Believe in no creed but Christ; no book but the Bible; no name but the Divine; and no plea but the Gospel.
We Believe the Holy Bible is the inspired word of God and we speak where the Bible speaks and are silent when the Bible is silent
We Believe the Holy Bible is the inspired word of God and we believe in Jesus Christ. He was born as the only begoten Son of God. He was crucified and died on a cruel cross for our sins and was buried. But the grave could not hold Him, as on the third day He arose and after 40 days He ascended to Heaven to join His Heavenly Father. There He is preparing a wonderful place for all who follow Him and accept Him as their personal Savour.
We believe there is a Heaven and a hell .... the Bible tells us so. There is the terrible hell to shun and the beautiful Heaven awaits all those who accept Christ and His teachings and are faithful to the end.
How Can We Become a Christian?
We can be added to the local church as members in this manner, or we can transfer our membership from another New Testament believing church. We can even come from a denominational background, which does not immerse, but a statement of faith and baptism by immersion will be accepted.
