BILLYS 2ND FAVORITE CITY IN THE STATES IS NEW YORK CITY

TOLD LANCE THAT BEING ON THE BRAD PAISLEY TOUR HELPED HIM OUT EXTREMELY EXPERIENCE WISE FOR THE BIGGER STAGE.  RIGHT NOW HE SAID THAT THE CMT TOUR IS 180 SHOWS AND ABOUT 240 DAYS. USED TO WORK OUT FIVE DAYS A WEEK BUT BEING ON TOUR IT IS DIFFICULT WITH HIS CURRENT SCHEDULE TO DO THAT SO HE ONLY GETS TWO TO THREE DAYS OF A WORK OUT IN A WEEK. WANTS TO WORK WITH KENNY ROGERS. FIRST CASSETTE WAS KENNY’S 20 GREATEST HITS.FAVORITE GENRE OUTSIDE COUNTRY IS R&B. August 12-13: Trace Adkins co-hosts the countdown. His new CD, "Dangerous Man," will be released this week. He talks about his tour last spring with Gretchen Wilson. He just performed for baseball website mlb.com, and he tells Lon about the experience. Plus Trace looks ahead to his CMT tour with Billy Currington and Jason Aldean.
This year marks the tenth anniversary as a recording artist for Trace Adkins. It comes as Trace is enjoying the biggest hit of his career, with "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk." While the hit version of that song was on his previous CD, Trace has included the video mix of the song on this new album. Plus, the Limited Edition, which was designed for European release, contains three other mixes, three bonus videos, exclusive behind the scenes footage from the making of the "Swing" video. Trace's new album is called "Dangerous Man," and it will be released on August 15. Trace says if you like what he's done before, you'll love the new one. "I think this album is very much like the work I've done before. We cover all the bases on this one. I have this recipe for the projects that I do, and until all those ingredients are in there, it's not done. I like to have the uptempo, fun stuff, and the sexual romp, and the deeper stuff that makes you sit & think, I have to have all those things, and this one is no exception."

Trace's last album was called "Songs About Me," and Trace says the new one picks up where that one left off. "This album could have been called 'Songs About Me Part 7.' I'm in a fortunate position these days where so many songwriters know about me, they know about me, what I'm like and the kinds of songs I like to record, so when it's time for us to do a new album, that stuff starts coming. I've talked to writers who, after they've written a song, will say that it sounds like Trace. I also get a lot of stuff that's so incredibly nasty that no one else will cut it. In desperation, they send it to me, knowing I'm their last resort, so I have to pass on a lot of really nasty stuff."

Thanks to Trace's current hit, "Swing," he has established a relationship with Major Leavgue Baseball. In fact, just last week, Trace was at the offices of MLB.com, and he did a special live performance for their web site. "It was pretty cool, it was baseball nirvana, baseball heaven. We went in and sang a few songs in their studio, we set up all our stuff, and it sounded great."

Last week when Rodney Atkins was Lon's co-host, he said Trace kidded him about the similarity of their last names. This week, Trace told Lon this story about his family name: "What I heard was initially the family name was "Adkins," but one group got caught stealing horses, and the other group didn't want to be associated with them, but the other bunch were chicken thieves, but they didn't want to be confused with the others so that's why that split came about."

Trace spent the spring with Gretchen Wilson on her Redneck Revolution tour, and it was obvious that Trace enjoyed the experience: "We all got along like two rednecks in a pod! She's just straight up. I like her a lot." Lon asked if anything unusual happened when the tour ended. Trace had this to say: "At the end of the tour, we were gonna get each other a parting gift and we got each other the same thing: Gift cards from Home Depot and Tractor Supply, so we just swapped 'em."

Joining Trace and Gretchen on the Redneck Revolution tour was newcomer Blaine Larsen. Trace had this to say about him: "Yeah, Bad Blaine, I called him. He's 20 years old and looks like he's 12, maybe. He's an intimidating figure, that boy is. He's just a kid, I hate him. He's out there doing his thing, and the young ladies love him. Bad Blaine. He does a good show, and I like his material. He goes out there and does Mac Davis. Nobody covers Mac Davis any more. I loved that." By the way, the song Trace was talking about is "Baby Don't Get Hooked On Me," and it's on Blaine's latest CD.

This fall, Trace will headline the CMT Tour, along with Jason Aldean and Billy Currington. Trace is looking forward to it. "Yeah that's gonna rock! I'm gonna walk out on stage and the leftovers from the young ladies who came to see those two guys will stay to see me too. And that'll be nice to see them. But if I meet any of them, they'll say the same thing most young ladies say to me these days, which is 'My mom loves you.'"

Trace and Billy Currington share another thing, in that Trace is about to appear in Playgirl. Billy was there last year. But unlike Billy, Trace says his layout is fully clothed. "I did an interview, but no photo shoot. They didn't even ask. My ego takes a bruising every day. They didn't even ask!"

Well hello there if you are a big Billy fan and want to help him promote his new album then this is one of many sites dedicated to Billy that you should check out from week to week.  This picture was taken by a fellow Billys Angel at Sundance also I believe. I am a member of Billboard.com and Billboard Radio Monitor and will be putting the charts up here to track Billys record sales and where he is on the charts. This was taken by a very sweet and caring lady whom I have a whole page on here to her. Lorraine went to see Billy at Sundance along with some other Billy fans from the board and we have formed a group called Billys Angels and as Billys Angels we are dedicated to helping Billy as much as possible. Whether it be voting on different sites for his songs or requesting his songs all the way to seeing him live and doing everything possible locally in our surrounding areas to promote the new album and let people know its out there and they should pick there's up today. Just look at him in this picture--I can't imagine not having to pick up an album of this young rising country artist after seeing him live and seeing him in the pictures we take. Billy is the ultimate performer and loves his fans. He is so passionate about his music and he remains grounded as he still believes in family first. times when I'm feeling down because of the loss of my husband(coincidentally he was Billy) how y'all are there to talk and for all your sweet and caring for other posters. You guys are undoubtedly the some of the best people on the CMT Message board. From day one of coming over there you guys have been so kind and I like Billys CMT Board and Curringtown and even the Street Team board for all the kindness you have shown me and countless other posters when they may have a bad day. and backing each other up when someone has to come on and either bad mouth Billy or one of us.

Well will you look at what this sweet adorable teenager got to do. Not too many 14yr  olds get the chance to give Billy a kiss.I had to put this here cause it is absolutely adorable.

Billys Angels are just that Angels we are truly a family if you could ever be a family on the board. You are all special and close to my heart and I'm hoping you all know that.

 I don't know what happened on that day five years ago when we lost the most important person in our lives but since then its been up and down for us but I truly believe and thank God for bringing you great people into my life. You are all a blessing to me.

With his current album less than two months old, singer Billy Currington took a customary break from life as a major-label country star to visit family and friends in South Georgia for Christmas. En route, he received a call saying the record's first single, "Must Be Doin' Somethin' Right," was going to close out 2005 at the top of the Billboard country charts.

In a young career full of huge and sometimes curious success - a duet hit with Shania Twain in 2004 along with recognition by Nashville Lifestyles magazine as one of the city's "25 Most Beautiful People" - this was the accolade that mattered most: his first No. 1 single as a solo artist.

"You couldn't ask for a better gift at Christmastime," said Currington.

The good news didn't stop there. On Jan. 6, Currington learned his new album, "Doin' Somethin' Right," reached gold status in sales.

"In just one month, we sold twice as many copies as the first album (his self-titled 2003 debut) sold in nearly four years. So, yeah, things are pretty unbelievable right now."

With a singing voice that regularly reflects his love of vintage soul and traditional country, the former concrete-factory worker gained initial radio attention with a pair of Top 10 hits from his debut album. One of them, "Walk a Little Straighter," was a grim remembrance of his alcoholic father.

The mood switched entirely on "Party for Two," a major pop-friendly smash with Twain. Suddenly, Currington went from being a noted rookie to a major country celebrity. The tune's accompanying video, shot in London, England, played on CMT for months.

"The song wasn't an introduction, of course," Currington said. "But it sure boosted my career. Video, though, goes a long way today. Standing next to Shania Twain, who the whole world loves, didn't hurt. I don't think people had any choice but to inquire as to who I was because that video was played so much."

While the second album was being recorded, Currington stirred up some very different publicity. In March, he was featured in the decidedly non-country pages of Playgirl magazine. In early fall, People designated a shirtless Currington their Man of the Week.

Perhaps that's to be expected from one of Nashville's "beautiful people." But as an aspiring singer from South Georgia, such diversions were the last things he expected while pursuing a country music career.

"I never could see myself in Playgirl or People or anything like that," Currington said. "You just don't think about those things. All you think about is getting onstage and singing. Winding up in Playgirl and People wasn't something anybody had planned. But that made it all the more fun for me."

Once "Doin' Somethin' Right" was released, fans saw more of Currington's musical profile. "She's Got a Way With Me" was co-written and performed with pop-soul singer Michael McDonald. And for the retro country crowd, there was a remake of "Lucille," the honky-tonk hit that reinvented Kenny Rogers as a country singer nearly three decades ago.

"I don't know why it is, but I just love soul music and all that old country stuff," Currington said. "I guess somehow my heart mixed them both together as I made my albums."

Hello I changed part of this page because I feel the need that this message gets out there and I feel Billy probably is feeling the same way. I know many of the Country Artists are feeling the same way. Hurricane Katrina devasted so many down in Mississippi,Alabama and Louisiana. So many children down there are not in there own homes, families are temporarily living in mobile homes and temporarily living with people who care enough to take them in others have been taken to states where people can take them in or homes can be found for them. These children need the spirirt of christmas and Santa Claus more than ever this year. The children don't understand whats happened not the small children. There are five year olds, six,seven all the way to there teen years all they know is the devastation of losing there homes they need someone like you or me to show them the true meaning of christmas which is giving of yourself finding that place inside that says "Yes I care about those people and I want to bring something happy to there lives this holiday season. I feel Billy more than likely feels the same way, I know for a fact that Jimmy Wayne feels this way as he has asked us on his board to please not forget about the children, This is a link to the Holly Holiday page of Feed The Children please take a look at it read it and please,please put a shoe box together for a child out there who needs to feel that people love them and care about them. Billy is Really Doin’ Somethin’ Right
On October 18, Billy Currington released his sophomore album, Doin’ Somethin’ Right.  The album secured the #2 position on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart with more than 54,000 units sold - Billy’s highest week of sales ever! 

“I couldn’t be happier” said Billy, when he was informed of the first week success.  “The variety of material on this album is a collection of music I’ve always wanted to make into a record; ever since I was a little boy and first started listening to country.  I hope the fans enjoy it!”  Congratulations Billy!

Well I'm not too sure about anyone else out there but I like to help whenever it's needed and the link above will take you to feed

the childrens page about how you can donate items for the kids whose lives have been turned upside down by Hurricane Katrina and its called Hollys Holiday because this one girl put 2,000 or more shoe boxes together for kids who were affected by Katrina and she did it the minute she found out that it happened. She is a young lady to be commended for doing such a wonderful thing for others who are in need and we need a few more people out there like Holly.

I have saw Billy 9 times so far starting july 2004 til now aug. 2005 .
He is the most genuine person you'll ever meet. I have been lucky to have been able to talk to him every concert so far. I know my luck is going to run out some time, but I hope not. He has the most beautiful voice you'll ever hear.

I have been a HillyBilly fan for a few years now. I've been blessed to have seen Billy 3 times in one year, and have also met him. He's so down to earth. His voice live is awesome! You cant sit still @ a live show, his kind of country music makes you wanna dance! And he is genuine to country music! I cant wait for "Doin' Somethin' Right" to come out!! Billy's first album was diverse and genuine. The new lead song for his second album is soft, sensual, and expresses sentiments that every woman would ever want to hear!
I also had the opportunity to meet Billy and sit next to him on a plane to Syracuse New York when he was promoting his first CD. He was funny, gracious, a polite southern gentleman, and sexy without even knowing it!
The song is a hit and the new album will be as well!

I saw Billy in PA in August. When he started singing his new songs you just wanted to go out and buy the cd. The songs were sensual, fun and you just wanted to dance with him. I have never been to a concert were you were able to stand 2ft away from the entertainer. Billy put on a great show and we had a blast!!! Meeting him was a wonderful experience that I will never forget.

As soon as I heard this man's voice in the duet with Shania Twain, I went on a desperate hunt to find out if he had a CD out of his own. Billy Currington is now my #1 favorite artist and have been hoping for the release of a new CD. Why in the world hasn't this guy been on the music shows before? His musical ability is so beautiful that he can certainly strum my heartstrings. I connected to him immediately with an artistic understanding and will support his music when ever I have a chance.

Billys single "Must Be Doin' Something Right" is climbing all the charts for new highs. It's one of the most played songs in my area and countless other area's. His concerts are the best and if you have not been to one yet you really need to check one out and to top it all off the guys and Billy have several dates where they are opening for Brad Paisley and Sara Evans. Finally someone is recognizing the talent of Billy and the band:Glen Mitchell on Lead Guitar,Shaun Smith on Bass Guitar, Joe "Catdaddy" Andrews on Drums and Mark Burch on Keyboards. This chance to open for Brad Paisley and Sara Evans is going to take this talented young artist and his very talented band into area's that they have not been to yet and will most likely open them up for new fans so Billy,Glen,Shaun,Mark and Joe get ready guys you are going to shine like never before its your time and I for one am very happy to see you guys get recognized and get this chance to open for these two veteran artists.
