Meet Nextar Karaoke owner and KJ, Billy Blaze. Lifetime music lover, accomplished singer, songwriter and guitarist, Billy continually strives to share his passion for music with others. Until 1998, Billy did not pursue music as a career, instead focusing on his career as an Optician, which, like everything Billy attacks with a passion, he excelled at.
While repairing a gentleman's eyeglasses one day, the conversation turned to music, and soon the two were working at starting a band. Unfortunately, Wade (the guy with the eyeglasses needing repair) soon moved to Mississippi, and the band, tentatively named "Howyomamanem" as a joke, never reached the stage.
Shortly afterward, Billy was contacted by the bass player from Howyomamanem and asked to join the band later named DreamCatcher. Billy learned a lot about music, sound, and the direction he wanted to go from DreamCatcher, then left to form his own band, Tasty Lixx.
Tasty Lixx enjoyed nearly three years of success, until the breakup in 2004. It was at this time that Billy finally made the decision to leave the optical field and make a career out of music. Thus was born Nextar Karaoke.
