Welcome to my website and thank you for your interest in my book AN ANCHOR IN THE PRAIRIE.
This autobiography is a nostalgic and fun journey from Middle America in the 1940's and '50s, through three careers and into retirement. From humble beginnings in the Prairie State of Illinois, to the wonders of the Pacific Ocean and lands beyond, it will take you through two enlistments in the U.S. Navy, 20 years as a broadcast journalist, and 16 years of Navy civil service in the nation's capital. I'm the guy who burned a hole in Bill Clinton's brand new office carpet, walked beneath the Arkansas River, and logged more than 1200 hours in a news helicopter. Oh yeah, I also sold encyclopedia door-to-door in the '60s. There were surprises behind some of those doors.
