This is what I've had

Follow the links above to view a few pictures of my recent bikes.

Just returned to Beemers - this time an R850R. Great handling bike and such a sweet engine - much smoother than the 1150s.

Previous aquisition was a Honda Silverwing or 'Swing' as it is generally known. Fantastically comfortable machine, economical yet fast and  agile and so easy to live with.

The Triumph Sprint was my everyday bike that did everything that I wanted and carried me over the Yorkshire hills and dales for 6 years.

The LE Velocette was just a bit of fun.  I bought it as three boxes of rusty and broken bits a few years ago.

The BMW R100 is a 1980 model that I have uprated in certain areas like twin plugging, Brembo brakes, electronic ignition and lots of stainless.  It is now married to a circa 1960 Steib S501 sports sidecar which, I believe to be one of the last ones produced before the factory closed down.

Matchless G12 - good old bit of British Iron - could go for miles before things started to fall off.

Stainless Steel

Every bike (and sidecar) that I own has everything replaced with stainless steel that it is possible to replace.

Exhaust systems, fasteners, brake hoses are all stainless steel, any new fittings or bracketry I always fabricate out of stainless.

Drop me a line at john@bikerjohn.co.ukif you want to talk about bikes in general or these bikes in particular.

Or keep your eyes open any nice day over the Yorkshire Moors or the Yorkshire Dales - if I'm not on the road then I'll probably be in a tearoom.
