Austin GDC (2009)

I am doing some updates and performing some maintenance on my site to get it ready for the Austin Game Developer's Conference coming up on September 15-18th 2009 in Austin, TX. I hope you will all come to see (or perhaps have already seen) my talk "Getting Things Done for Writers and Creatives" on the 16th Wed morning from 11am to 12pm. I will post any notes or sage peices of advice from the round table discussion here on my site, so please come back to check in.

Global Game Jam

I had the honor and pleasure of participating just this past weekend in the first international global game jam. At something like fifty locations around the world, hundreds of game developers split themselves into team and set about creating a game in 48 hours based on a theme.

"As long as we have each other, we will never run out of problems."

Pretentious? Vague? Indeed, guilty on both counts, but the theme was broad enough to allow a lot of wiggle room. Each location received three adjectives to choose from. Ours were: Light, Slippery, and Reduced. After some brainstorming, we split into teams. My team chose "light".
