The Big Four Railway Webring

Hello, and welcome to the Big Four Railway Webring, please do browse all of these sites, and leave feedback by emailing us if you have any queries or suggestions for the site.

In 1923 the main railway-operating companies were re-organised by the government. 123 private railways were formed into four new companies, known collectively as The 'Big Four'. The new arrangements brought a greater degree of unity to the network and made life easier for the traveller. However, their approach to locomotive design, standards and passengers were all very different.

This webring links not only to sites and forums associated with the 'Big Four', but also to 'British Railways' and Railway Preservation associated sites.
