bigberthaevans's FriendsThis is my first web page! I pray I'm doing alright. I would like to tell you about my first book! "Joys and Sorrows of Living with Adult Autism" It's about the first 6 years of marriage to my Autistic husband, Brian.
We didn't even know he was Autistic until January 19, 2005! My marriage has been and still is an adventure everyday! I learn something new about my husband all the time! I used to tell him to grow up but now I know he can't. Being married to an Autistic man is like being married to a two year old in many ways. I get to experience all the joys of having a child and some of the sorrows too. You know how a toddler will run up to people he likes...my husband is the same way! It is so sweet! I have to do lots of explaining when he does this. He doesn't realize being an adult man he can't just run up to just anyone he likes the looks of, he doesn't even have to know them personally, they could just look similar! In his eyes he is still a child, he is just being sweet. He is a rather big guy (235) and these people could feel threatened having a big man racing up to hug them. They may not even know him!
My book is full of these kind of experiences. It also has many ideas that may work for you if you deal with Autism or Aspergers in any way. It also deals with my Autistic husband's BAD experiences with hospitals. I tell how an Autistic person needs to be treated. in a hospital or any environment that makes them feel scared. When you are Autistic ANYTHING could frighten you! Every Autistic person is different. You have to search and by process of elimination TRY to figure them out because most Autistic people are unable to tell you! They may know the answer to your question but getting the answer out their mouth is very rarely possible! It is really hard not to get frustrated but when you choose to find the good that the Lord has for you in every situation, there is constant Joy in your journey.
You are welcome to find anybody who knows "Big Bertha" and ask about my attitude in life. Like any human I have my bad days but for the most part they are always JOYFUL. I am the happiest person you will ever know! Everyone I know either LOVES me or HATES me because I get on there nerves because I am so happy all the time!
In Christian Love
