A crucial part of developing a show is the need for backstage volunteers to help with set construction, set up and tear down. Parents and students work side by side to build sets from simple stage risers to multi-story housing and column facades. You don't have to be a general contracter to participate, just possess the willingness to jump right in and get a little dusty.
To see when help is needed, just give the coordinators a call or come down most evenings in the weeks prior to a show and see where you can pitch in. (You can park in back of the school and enter at door #25 to the Mraz Center backstage.) Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings are scheduled set building days, however, as shows get closer, volunteers are often found there nightly.

Jeff Hausladen, Jay Beal and Paul Grazzini are common faces you will often find backstage creating fantastically wonderful things!

Volunteering backstage also affords you with an opportunity to mentor students and performers in construction skills.
With 5-6 shows every year and many dynamic visions for set construction, our theatre guild is always interested in donations. If you have building supplies, tools or unusual prop/set pieces you would like to donate, please contact Paul Grazzini at (952) 447-7857or paul.grazzini@theatreBHS.com.
Unfortunately, due to limited storage space, we must place limitations on donations with regard to volume and quality. We appreciate your generosity and would welcome the opportunity to explore what you might have available.
