This annual award is run by ISD 191 and honors volunteers who give of their time and talents to enhance students' educational experience and achievement, and/or demonstrate the importance of volunteerism and good citizenship. (Business people, community residents, students, parents, staff members and alumnus are all eligible. )

Costumer Sally Graff was a recipient 2 years ago, as was our Fundraising volunteer, Lynn Rhinevault last year.

Both Lisa and Nick auditioned for and were accepted into Project Opera, a prestigious high school opera training program in conjunction with the Minnesota Opera. The group rehearses weekly and performs at various venues around the Twin Cities. A final concert will take place at the Ordway Theater in April.
Thank you to all of the students who stepped up and volunteered their time at the recent Cub Foods grocery bagging. Everyone who showed up will receive points towards lettering in theatre this year.

After a long battle with Parksinson's Disease, Thomas B. Mraz passed away at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester on Saturday, November 28, 2009. He was 75.
The high school's Mraz Center is named after Thomas B. Mraz, a fine arts teacher who was an inspiration to our school's aspiring singers, dancers, actors and musicians for many years.
During his 30+ years at BHS, Mraz directed more than 100 plays and is recognized for his launch and artistic direction of ShowTime - a touring variety show based out of Burnsville High School from 1963-1991.
