What is BhavyaOS :
BhavyaOS is a GNU/Linux Operating system, designed to run completely from a single CD without the necessity of a harddisk . It has applications for almost every imaginable task. It can be used as a recovery system , a demo system or just to learn and try linux . It has office suites, multimedia players, advanced image editors, challenging games, lots of these and more.
How does it work ?
BhavyaOS is basically an enhancement of the RH 9 distribution. It includes the latest linux kernel 2.4.20 and lots of other utilities, another major enhancement is the user friendly reorganized menu system, you will feel at ease with it . BhavyaOS includes about 2 GB of quality software, all compressed onto a CD using a transparent decompression module called cloop ( Thanks to Klaus Knopper of the KNOPPIX fame ), for compressed loopback system. It has automatic hardware detection and all your linux, win9x/NT/XP harddisk partitions are made available in read-only mode. For writable area Bhavya OS uses your system RAM ( heard of ramdisk) , you may also save your work and custom settings onto any other writable media .
Minimum Requirements :
BhavyaOS in it's basic form can be run in text mode with minimal requirements , or can be run with full GUI with moderate resources . The following are the set of minimum requirements to run BhavyaOS :
