This school year marks the beginning of exciting times at Covert High School!
Last year we were able to make significant gains in Mathematics enough to earn the school a "stay" on the state's Adequate Yearly Progress scale. In an effort to continue this positive trend we have re-aligned our math course offerings to ensure that students are being taught the content that will make the students successful.
Additionally we are excited to have Ms. Pollok join the math department staff. She comes in the place of Mr. Beck who has transitioned into the Middle School. WELCOME MS. POLLOK!
This year we endeavor to do the very best we can to see that each student receives what he/she needs in order to be successful in Mathematics. We have adopted a 6th hour support class to help those students who would benefit from addition exposure to reach the prescribed performance levels. The instrutional specialist Mr. Grob and Mr. Stephens will also offer additional 6th hour mathematics support for students who need it.
Again I am excited and ecstatic about our potential for growth this year. The last pieces of this puzzle are students who are eager, willing and ready to learn - Let's get it started, it's a brand new day!
