About the Team at Best Friends Grooming Salon

Jessica Steward is the main stylist at Best Friends Grooming Salon.

She is a professionally qualified dog groomer having been awarded an OCN level 2 in dog grooming and OCN level 3 in the grooming business. Jessica gained a diploma from The Classic Canine Cuts Dog Grooming School in South Wales where she undertook an intensive private dog grooming course in 2004. Jessica has loved dogs all of her life and began competing in dog agility at the age of 12 and has competed at Crufts several times.

In 2005 she won the Princes Trust "Shropshire's Young Business Person Of The Year" award.

Jessica was previously doing a Law & American Studies degree at Keele University before she decided to follow her heart and she left to set up Best Friends Grooming Salon with her mum Ginny. Since that day she has never looked back!

Jessica loves being with dogs all day and it has meant that she has got lots of time to spend with her own 7 dogs!

Ginny is a Professionally trained dog groomer and has been part of Best Friends Grooming Salon from the very beginning. She is Jessica's mum who has supported her in everyway from day one and continues to work full time at the Salon.

Ginny doesnt style but does everything else including "Quality Control!"

From washing & drying dogs, answering the phone and cleaning to making the cups of tea - the salon couldn't run without her!

Her favourite breed of dog is a Rough Collie and she loves taking our dogs for walks.

Karen splits her time with caring for her beloved horses and running her own home boarding for dogs business called Canine Country Holidays.

Karen is a fully qualified Equine Touch Therapist and is training to become a Canine Touch Therapist. She is a riding instructor and is very interested in natural horsemanship. Karen has always owned dogs and currently has 4 dogs - "Chase" a border Collie, "Molly" a Kelpie cross, "Cajun" a Miniature American Shepherd and "Pearl" a black Labrador puppy!

Karen started working for us in 2005 after her son did his work experience here! Karen specialises in combing out dogs, bathing & drying.

Teena has definitely got one breed that she loves more than others and that's the beautiful Whippet. Teena owns 7 whippets and travels all over the country showing them. Her dogs have won numerous awards including a CC and places at Crufts.

Teena occasionally breeds whippet puppies and usually ends up keeping one from every litter! Her KC Affix is "Lawleymoon".

Teena has worked for us for many years and her favourite part of the job is drying dogs. Her dogs often come to work with Teena to enjoy a good blast around our paddocks which tires them all out for the rest of the day!
