Democrats in Southern York County

Meet in Berwick For

DEMOCRACY & DESSERT

January 14, 2006

On a rainy January afternoon, nearly one hundred enthusiastic Democratic activists gathered in the Berwick Town Hall for “Democracy & Dessert” hosted by the Berwick Democratic Committee.  The faithful gathered to hear and speak with local candidates as they prepare for the 2006 election.

Twelve candidates running for office were able to share their ideas on how to change the political landscape in York County.  Three Senate candidates, five House candidates, and four York County candidates were the guest speakers at the event.

This is the fourth activity in the past year for the Berwick Democrats.

In May, members distributed balloons “Remembering All Who Sacrificed” at the Memorial Day Parade.  In the fall, they decorated their “Adopt-a-Spot” in the center of town.  Their most recent success came during Berwick’s annual Christmas parade when their float depicting, “A Neighborhood Christmas” took second place, in the Civic category.

The Berwick Democrats meet on the second Monday of each month at 7pm in the Berwick Town Offices.  Our  next meeting is scheduled for  February 13th.
