Berkshire Reptile Rescue

Permanent residents

Some of the animals that come to us dont get rehomed but stay with us for the rest of their lives. this is either due to disability, sickness, aggression or some times because they are fallen in love with(were only human)

Nigel Came from a local shop where he
had been living after being found
in a box of imported farm equipment
from new zealand, He was a wild
animal and very aggressive,
he is tamer now but is still
unhandleable so he lives
here with us.

Nigel is a  species of new zealand skink
unknown in the reptile trade but
common in his home country

Jubjub a male dab lizard came to us with another male. His friend had a tumour on his leg which turned out to be malignant.

Jubjub looked after his companion in a way that surprised us, two males would  usually fight, but Jubjub would stand guard over his friend and make sure he had his share of food.

When his friend died we brought jubjub a girlfriend and let him retire with us here as reward for his good deeds.
