Welcome to the Chilton House, one of Berkshire County's finest historic mansions, a brick Georgian built in 1915 by the Crane family of Dalton, Massachusetts, most renowned for producing the paper on which our country's currency is printed. Also known for Governor and U.S. Senator Winthrop Murray Crane.
A brick fenced garden encloses a central fountain head and a columned, brick gazebo; reflective pool, in-ground pool with diving, and jacuzzi are just to the rear of the estate. Inside is the lavish interior of an era gone-by: formal dining, library, and billiard room, each with their own unique fireplace. The music of the Baby Grand Piano splendidly fills the air - even of the grand hall, decorated with columns, wall sconces, and a spectacular chandelier.
