Our Chapter began after our Vice-Queen Beauty, Linda, read an article about ladies that wore Red Hats and Purple Outfits forming a club to step out and just plain have fun.  She passed this information on to our Queen, Joan, and suggested that they form a Red Hat Society Chapter of their very own.  Well, as the word went out e-mails began rolling in with ladies wanting to join.  Our first meeting was held on June 8, 2003 at the Forum Diner in Paramus, NJ, with 13 ladies attending.  What fun it was to see a sea of Red & Purple upon entering the Restaurant.  We knew we were in for a good time.  Well, that was two years ago, and now our membership is well over 100 and still growing.  We now host many events during the year and also monthly dinners.  Of course, we are always looking to that next wonderful event to attend and to make another memory with all of the new friends we have met and will meet in the future.
