Bennettswood Raskal Guides

Meet The Members

Here is a quick piece about each of our members. Each blurb was written by the girls themselves. As you will see each member is different and brings something unique to the Unit.

The Girls

Here is a small blurb about each of our members.

Alex: Hi! My name is Alex and I've been a Raskal for 3 years now. I've been both the Treasurer and Chairperson for my Unit over this time and earned my Queen's Guide Award. My favourites things to do include going camping, eating and attending events such as Race Around Melbourne. I enjoy doing a range of activities from week to week at Raskals from earning badges to watching movies or just chatting and laughing amongst the group.

Jess G: Hi, I'm Jess and I've bben a Raskal for 3 years. I've been secretary for 2 1/2 years and have been loving it. While in Raskals I've been to Tassie with the groupand Japan, with Gemma, Allison and Tracey (and four years ago with Alex and Tracey)and I've loved both trips, seeing both sides of being nearly an adult (just under 3 months, YAY!) and being a young teenager. Ciao!

Jess T: Jess Jess Bo Bess! Bunrua fo fanna fo fess! Me mi mo mess! Jesssss!!Yes, my name is Jess (and it rhymes too!) Jess likes choclate, eating chocolate and scoffing chocolate! She lives in a chocolate castle in chocoland and sleeps on a bed made of chocolate! Love Jess P.S. Jess Likes Chocolate (I have no idea why she wrote in third person, I just published it)

Mikaela: Hello, I'm Mikaela, I've been in Guides for 9 years, and 4 of those years I have been a Raskal. I've been on a few Unit camps, but Tassie was by far the best one. What I cannot get over is the fact that the worlds longest park bench only seats 188 people, to me that doesn't seem very many for a world record!!! I plan to go to Box Hill TAFE next year to do a Certificate 4 in nursing. My hobbies include working with animals at RSPCA (where I volunteer), playing the guitar, computer stuff and ten-pin bowling.

Allison: Hi, I'm Allison or AB2. I am the nexly elected Chairperson of the Raskals. My other hobbies are netball, mucking around on the computer, shopping, hanging out with friends and reading. I have been a Guide for eight years and just recently went to Japan with Gemma, Jess G and Tracey, through Guides.

Gemma: Hi! My name is Gemma (as I'm sure you've already read). I have only been a Raskal for about 8 months but I am absolutly loving it!! I am our current Webmaster, so most of the stuff you see on this site is my handiwork. I am working on my Queen's Guide Award at the moment and hope to have it finished by the time Yr 12 rolls around. Before I became a Raskal I was a Guide at Vermont and I am still a Junior Leader at 2nd Vermont. My favourite things include sport, food and music. Apart from Guiding I am a HUGE Harry Potter fan. I believe Guides is an amazing organisation and I love everything we do together as a Unit.

Rosie: My name is Rosemary. I've been in Guides for nine years, but I'm new to Raskals. I have earnt my Junior B.P. and my B.P. I enjoy playing soccer and LOVE Ice-skating.

Jai: We are unable to bring you this profile at this time. The site will be updated A.S.A.P.

Jess C: Hello, my name is Jess and I'm 14. I have been in Guides for 4 years. It is awesome fun!!! We get to meet every week and do cool activities, like cooking and races. We get to go on camps and learn important skills! I enjoy eating and hanging around with my friends. We have a great time. Love Jess

Kate: Hi, I'm Kate and I'm 15 years old. I have been in Guides for 5 years. I enjoy horse riding and  playing tennis. I LOVE BOYS!!

Mel: Hi, my name is Mel and I'm 14 years old and have been doing Guides for 9 months. My favourite colour is purple and I like cows.

The Leaders

The Bennettswood Raskals have 2 fantastic Leaders, when asked to write something about themselves for our website, this is what they wrote:

Tracey: Hi, I'm Tracey Connor. I have been a leader for 23 years, including being a leader with the Raskals since 2000. I was a leader in W.A. for 5 years. I have travelled both interstate and overseas with Guides (including going to Japan this year with Jess G, Gemma and Allison, and in 2005 with Jess G and Alex), which is a great experience as I have many Guiding friends. During the day I work with disabled adults and enjoy doing crafts and theatre.

Lisa D: We are unable to bring you this profile at this time. The site will be updated A.S.A.P.
