My birding, like this website, is a work in progress but slowly, things are starting to get good. My 2007 effort saw me use 80 trains, 105 buses and various boats to get to some brilliant birds - in all, seeing a respectable 264 birds in the UK, including many of our best specialties, whilst taking in the UK's most varied sites and meeting some great people on the way.

Twenty mile treks in fog for Dotterels, sharing my stomach contents with the North Sea , getting eroded on Porthgwarra ... it was a real eye opener to the seesaw world of British birding. In 2008, things are getting serious, with focused birding in the WP and quality rares in the UK, hoping to photograph some of them with any luck. Hope you enjoy browsing and over time, things will get better and more birds will get seen.
