American Tribal Style (ATS):
Annie teaches ATS as taught by Carolena Nericcio of FatChanceBellydance. ATS is a modern style of dance characterized by beautifully costumed dancers, lead & follow formations, vibrant music and a "tribal" cooperation.
Class will be taught by first breaking down a few movements. We will drill the moves and discuss dance formations. The last 15 - 20 minutes will be spent dancing in small groups.
2:30 - 3 PM - slow moves3-4 PM - fast moves

Tribal Fusion
This class will run through the end of January 2010. We will work on isolations, locks and slinky movements associated with tribal fusion. We'll talk about traveling steps and turns and work our moves into combos. No choreography will be taught, but by assembling a handful of combos you can create your own Tribal Fusion dance!

Troupe Practice
TBA: Students who have completed Level 2 ATS classes are welcome to come learn advanced combinations and spend time with our troupe. While the Intro classes are focused on familiarizing the dancer with basic ATS movements, the troupe practice is focused on perfecting those movements and learning to dance as a group.

Wednesday
Joharah of the Lost Jewels of the Ghawazee offers a tribal fusion class. Class involves a warm-up and practice of various bellydance movements. You'll learn dance moves and work them into a choreography. You can contact Joharah at youngvc@appstate.edu for more information about her classes.

Intro to ATS - Slow Moves
We will work on the slow vocabulary of American Tribal Style bellydance. Moves include upper body undulations, turns and taqsims.
