Arnis Koredas Obra Mano

Arnis Koredas Obra Mano is simply the name gave to this traditionnal style, handing down throughout years in a cultural way.

Arnis came from spanish term "ARNES" meaning "defensive armor".

Koredas means "to mix".

Obra means "work".

Mano means "hand".

In this style, the stick used in a 50-53 cm'lenght one instead of 70 cm generally used in others styles.

The training is based on a short distance effective work : SERRADA (short distance).

The choice of this kind of stick is practical because with this weapon, the practitionner must created instinct skills due to the short time of reaction available.

This way of working don't exist in others systems and styles, they are more "classical", based on academic way.

The essential aim of Arnis is to stimulate instinct reaction in every positions and every situations.

Every contact must create sensation, creativity and answer in fight.

Arnisador must adapt his body mouvement to any strike or counter of assailant.

Nothing is written and determined in advance, only instinct skills trained by years of repetitions drills and fights.

With practice, with time, any mouvements, any reactions, any counters become instinctive and precise... what mind see, body follows...

For increasing instinct skills, three principles are important : PRACTICE, FLUIDITY and MIND FREEDOM.
