Also known as Vietnamese Lemon Mint or Vietnamese Balm. The serrated, bright green leaves are similar in scent and flavor to lemon verbena and lemongrass. Productive multi-branched plants grow 2 to 3 feet tall. Needs sun and warmth to thrive. Grown as a tender perennial in frost-free areas, and an annual herb elsewhere. The lemon-mint flavor of young leaves and stems is delicious in tea drinks and brightens many dishes—noodles, fish, chicken, salads and soups.
