2007 Winter Session

 4/1/07 -Beer Heads -1  Angry Beavers - 5

 Team  1  2   F
 Beer Heads  1  0   1
 Angry Beavers  2  3  5

4/1/07- Fremont,Ne   The Beer Heads came into the Winter Tourney on a 8 game winning streak, but this wasn't the team who showed up for the tournament, missing starting goalie Mike Parks, defenseman Brad Bell and Nick Reichs and Forward Dan Wagner left the team with holes to fill .  In the end there were to many holes as players had to play different positions and team chemistry was certainly missing as league leader in goals, Eric Kamin, found himself in the net sharing time with another forward Carey Durbin, the Beer Heads had picked the wrong time to be missing players.  With the score only 2-1 at the half, the Beer Heads had no answer for the 3 second half goals and exited the tourney with a disappointing 5-1 loss to the # 4 seeded Beavers.   The Beavers on the other hand used the momentum from their win to win the Winter tourney and shock the league.

 3/25/07 -Beer Heads -3  Orange Devils - 1

 Team  1  2   F
 Beer Heads  0  3   3
 Orange Devils  0  1  1

3/25/07- Fremont,Ne   The Beer Heads came into the last game of scheduled play with a limp, missing 3 players, out for various reasons, injury, surgery, and prior committments a previous player from the Fall session came back to help and the team was able to finish what they started.  The Beer Heads started off slowly but were able to manage a 0-0 tie going into half time, then about 5 minutes into the 2nd half, Eric Kamin rifled a shot into the upper left hand corner to make it 1-0 Beer Heads.  Just minutes later a breakaway by forward Carey Durbin led to another Eric Kamin goal, this time Durbin went heels over head over the Devil goalkeeper and somehow managed to get the ball across and Kamin tapped it into the empty net to make it 2-0.  As the period wore on the Beer Heads had many chances but it wasn't until forward Delayne Katzburg was able to poke check the ball past the Devil goalie while on the ice to make it a 3-0 Beer Head lead.  The Devils after being turned away all night by Beer Head goalie Mike Parks finally found the net on a spinning shot from the point which grazed the left knee of Parks and went in.  This made the lead 3-1 but it was too little too late and the Beer Heads cruised to the 3-1 win and a undefeated regular season heading into next weeks Winter League Tourney.

The #1 seeded Beer Heads will face off against the #4 seeded Beavers  in what should be a interesting game as again the Beer Heads will be short key personell in the game.   Goalie Mike Parks will be out of town on vacation and forwards Chris Clem and Dan Wagner are out due to injury and recovering from eye surgery.  For the Beer Heads finding a new goalie so late could be costly as the team tries to defend their Fall League Championship and go Back to back for the first time in a few years.

3/18/07 -Beer Heads -2  Billy and the Boingers - 1

 Team  1  2   F
 Beer Heads  2  0   2
 Boingers  1  0  1

3/18/07- Fremont,Ne   Billy and the Boingers looked to end the Beer Heads domination Sunday night as they came out and scored early to make it 1-0 but as the case has been in past weeks, the Beer Heads didn't panic and League Leader Eric Kamin knew it wasn't over yet.  The Beer Heads missing a couple of players, one due to injury and one out traveling looked to Kamin to lead them back and that he did. Scoring 2 goals in a 45 second span he took assists from defenseman Nick Reichs on both goals in which the 2nd looked like a carbon copy of the 1st.  The Scoring burst gave Kamin his 13th and 14th goals of the season and he's just seems to be playing at a different level, a more superior level .  The Beer Heads remain undefeated in the Winter Session and will try to remain undefeated with only a game agaist the Orange Devils left before the Final Tourney.

3/11/07 -Beer Heads -3  Beavers - 1

 Team  1  2   F
 Beer Heads  0  3   3
 Beavers  1  0  1

3/11/07- Fremont,Ne   The Beer Heads stumbled out of the gates early on Sunday night being out played and out hustled and it looked to be a long night when the Beavers scored early to make it 1-0 on a shot from in front of the goal.  The Beavers kept the pressure on in the 1st half, pelting shot after shot on Beer Head Goalie Mike Parks but somehow even with all their pressure it was only 1-0 at the half.  The 2nd Half started and it didn't take long for the game and momentum to change.  About two minutes into the period Eric Kamin led 3 on 1 on the Beaver Goalie and scored to tie the game .  On the next faceoff, a quick pass from Kamin to Forward Chris Clem led to a shot from the left point that skipped past the Beaver goalie and made it 2-1 Beer Heads.   The Beer Heads 3rd goal came 20 seconds later when Defenseman Brad Bell rifled a shot from the point and it sliced thru the traffic in front of the net and into the back of the net to make it a 3-1Beer Head lead.  The 3rd goal in a span of about 45 seconds really took the air out of the Beavers and even though there were plenty more Beaver scoring chances Parks denied any into the net and the Beer Heads continued their winning ways moving to 6 - 0 - 1.

3/4/07 -Beer Heads -3  Orange Devils - 0

 Team  1  2   F
 Beer Heads  3  0   3
 Orange Devils  0  0  0

3/4/07- Fremont,Ne   The Beer Heads continued their dominance Sunday night shutting out the Orange Devils 3-0 and moving on to 5 - 0 - 1 on the Winter session.  Delayne Katzburg started the scoring as he tipped in the a rebound in front of the Devils net to make it 1-0.  Eric Kamin added the second goal to make it 2-0 then Brad Bell ripped a laser from the blue line into the top right corner of the net to make it 3-0 going to the the half.   The Beer Heads set the cruise control from there and went on to win 3-0 keeping the team in 1st place with 3 games left before the Winter tourney.

2/25/07 -Beer Heads -3  Billy and the Boingers -2

 Team  1  2   F
 Beer Heads  3  0   3
 Billy and the Boingers  1  1  2

2/25/07- Fremont,Ne   The Beer Heads fell down 1-0 early Sunday night as a redirected one-timer found the upper part of the net and Billy's took a early lead.  This didn't rattle the Beer Heads though as 3 straight goals before the half, 2 by Eric Kamin and one by Carey Durbin gave the Beer Heads the lead. In the second period the Beer Heads had many near goals but couldn't light the lamp and with about 5 minutes left a Boingers defensemen took a pass off the face off and drove a shot into the lower right hand corner of the net to make it a 3-2 game with just a few moments.  Billy's had a couple other opportunities but was stoned by Beer Head goalie Mike Parks and the Beer Heads hung onto the win and moved to 4-0-1 on the winter session.

2/18/07 -Beer Heads -6  Angry Beavers -0

 Team  1  2   F
 Beer Heads  5  1   6
 Angry Beavers  0  0  0

2/18/07- Fremont,Ne   The Beer Heads came out looking to stay unbeaten on the Winter session and that they did, part in help to a rookie goalie in the Beaver Net.  Things started off slow as the first 10 or so minutes went scoreless but then the Beer Heads put the Beavers away scoring 5 goals in the last 10 minutes of the 1st half.   Delayne Katzburg scored his 1st goal of his early career to make it 3 -0 in the 1st half, then Brad Bell shot from the Beer Head blue line and the ball ricocheted off the Beaver goalie and into the net, this coming on about a 150 foot shot, assisted by Goalie Mike Parks who told him "Just shoot...this guy couldn't stop a Bowling Ball".   At the Half the Beer Heads decided to switch things up and moved the defense to offense and vice versa, and managed only a single goal in the second half.  The Beer Heads are 3-0-1 now and soley in 1st place.

2/11/07 -Beer Heads -3  Billy and the Boingers -1

 Team  1  2   F
 Beer Heads  1  2   3
 Orange Devils  0  1  1

2/11/07- Fremont,Ne  After applying pressure on the Boinger goal most of the game finally Nick Reichs gave the Beer Heads a 1-0 in the 1st, tapping in the ball after it squeaked under the Boinger goalie. That lead held up most of way until late in the second half a crossing pass was knocked down by a wide open Boinger forward on the back door step, who then flipped it past Parks to tie the game at 1-1.  With just over a minute left in the game Forward Eric Kamin took the ball behind the Boinger net then wraped around the left side of the net and deflected the ball off the Boinger goalie into the net to make it 2-1 Beer Heads.  In a last ditch effort, Boingers pulled the goalie but Kamin stole the ball at center ice with about 10 seconds left and added a empty net goal to seal the win 3-1 for the Beer Heads.

1/21/07 -Beer Heads -2  Orange Devils -1

 Team  1  2   F
 Beer Heads  2  2
 Orange Devils  1 0  1

1/21/07- Fremont,Ne  Eric Kamin scored two quick goals in the first 3 minutes of the game and the Beer Heads hang on to a 2-1 win to get their 1st win of the Winter session.  The Beer Heads were missing 3 players and had no subs in the win.  The offense pounded the Devils goalie all night and had 4 shots ring the post but the defense did it's job and the Beer Heads are 1-0-1 going to the 2 week bye.
