Training Program:
Offering training in many different aspects from basic ground manners to starting youngsters either western or over fences. Our training program consists of a combination of techniques that involve you as the owner as well. We use a lot of natural horsemanship methods, horses are started slowly and at their own pace - we believe that training should never be rushed. Youngsters are started in a round pen to get accustomed to both voice and body commands as well as lunging, long-lining and tack. Once the horses are comfortable with this they are taken out of the pen and introduced to outside experiences. They are long-lined down fields and out on trails to get them accustomed to voices from behind them. Once they have accepted this and are confident in themselves, we will start them slowly under saddle. Each animal is an individual and that is how they are treated.
We specialize in Western and English events and work to produce a versatile all-around animal. Kris has many years of experience with young horses, problem horses as well as training horses at shows. Since Kris has worked with professinal trainers all of her life, she has been exposed to all kinds of horses and issues that can arise. From starting babies to preparing for the show ring, all aspects of training can be addressed and an individual training program arranged.
Lesson Program:
Lessons can be at your farm or on one of my horses. Lessons are customized for each individual. They range from the beginner to show ready competitors. Please contact Kris for further information on lessons.
