Become the First Church

Uniting under the name of Jesus Christ regardless of race, backrgound, age, denomination, or situation.

Welcome to Become the First Church!

On October 6th, 2007, I was sitting on the beach listening to a visiting missionary from Asia speak to our youth group. While I was listening, an idea popped into my head: a way to unite Christians all around the world. A way to share with believers from all over, or even close to where I live, what God has shown me. A way to declare His faithfulness, proclaim His righteousness, and boast of His love. A way to become like the first church.

This website is designed to unite the Chruch, restore our passion, kindle our fire, and glorify God. I don't care if it has one visitor or a thousand. If it makes any kind of difference, I will know that it was worth the effort.

My name doesn't matter. Where I'm from doesn't matter. My age does not matter. I just want God's Name to be lifted high, and a revolution to start in our hearts. Recently I heard a sermon from Pastor Bob Coy that was talking about one man who lit a fuse that would affect more people than he would ever imagine. Gavrilo Princip was his name. On June 28, 1914, he assassinated Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria and his wife. This sparked World War I, and the conflict that followed that war sparked World War II, which gave Israel its own nation again. Two wars and a pivotal event caused by one man killing another. And one person can't change anything?

Brothers and sisters, I want revolution so terribly. God gave me vision for it a bit over a year ago, and since then it has totally overtaken my mind.

God has not quite directed me to a theme verse for this "mission", but Galatians 1:10 is very good:
"For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ."

Grace and peace unto you all!

Why "The First Church"?

The first church has captivated me ever since I read Acts. And by the first church, I don't mean what is often called "the Early Church", where the church has absolute power and everything was more about tradition and Latin than about Jesus Christ the Lord.
Here is what the believers of the first church were like:
*They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. (Acts 2:42)
*All the believers were together and had everything in common. (Acts 2:44)
*Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. (Acts 2:45)
*Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. (Acts 2:46-47)
*All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they had. (Acts 4:32)

About the Globe

The Globe is a way to display prayer requests all around the world. Be it persecuted Christians, a dying grandma, or a struggling student, I want to hear about it. Just give me the general area (I'm really bad with maps) and I will add the dot to the globe. If you have one that you would like to add, please email it to me at BecomeTheFirstChurch@yahoo.com
