To her amusement she's been labelled "folk babe" and a " crusader for the English folk scene" but Barnsley singer, Kate Rusby has more than a little bit to be dead proud of. Since her debut paid performance at Holmfirth Folk Festival, at the tender age of 15, shes gone from strength to strength and is now an internationally recognised folk artist whos turned more than a few eyes to the English folk scene. But while her critics critise her for producing the same old material time and time again, Kate maintains that each album is unique and we strongly agree with her when she tells her critics in the nicest way possible to stick it. Her beautiful and captivating voice and her winning sense of humour, plus her "kick ass" attitude and determination to stop folk being seen as "something what weird people listen to" has produced her a large UK and international following. We love her!
