BECF Update April 2009
Exciting times are ahead for the BECF. We had a productive AGM and many people
came forward to offer help – which we are very grateful for.
The new committee will be joined by a team of representatives who will
`champion' and promote their interest area and act as an information service to
old and new hobby members alike.
The MECS website is up and running with the new MECS show secretary ready to
issue qualifying tickets for the 2010 show. (MECS is having a break this year).
A hobby day is planned for 17th October 2009 with many demonstrations and
activities already planned. (More details to follow).
Updates and changes are planned for the BECF website. An online newspage will
replace newsletters which will mean membership is completely free. Members
without internet access will receive a print out of the newspage.
There are plans to continue the BECF photo shows and develop a points system.
If you have any ideas that you think the BECF could consider or you wish to help
in any way please contact myself the BECF co-ordinator at: c.ashworth@virgin.net
A big thank you to everyone who has helped me in my first three weeks as
co-ordinator.

NEW BECF CO ANNOUCEMENT - 4th March 2009
Thank you to everyone that voted for the position of a new CO for the BECF.
In total we had 45 votes from a wide range of hobbyists.
The winner of the voting was Claire Ashworth and we will shortly be officially
welcoming Claire to the position.
We have been working hard over the last few months and I am sure Claire will
help us bring these ideas and projects to a conclusion and also inject a breath
of fresh air and bring even more new ideas to the BECF.
We will be announcing a date for the BECF AGM shortly, we wanted to get the
voting process out of the way, to ensure the new CO is able to attend.
Again, thank you to everyone who voted, your time was very much appreciated.
