Aims of the BECF: The Forum is established for the benefit of the membership.
To promote the hobby of collecting model equines.
To provide a forum for collectors to meet and exchange information.
To arrange and provide meetings, social events, and information for members.
To raise funds for the BECF and invite and to receive contributions for the BECF by ways of sponsorship and otherwise for the members.
What the BECF offers:
First contact with the hobby to the general public.
Source of information for members and the general public.
Help promote the hobby to the general public.
A forum for advice, help and suggestions by and for members.
A “talking shop” where people can meet and socialise, pass information, and generally making friends with people with similar interests.
Organise, run and collate the BECF Prefix Registery
Provides a Quarterly Newsletter to members of the BECF, which includes details of models for sale, postal shows, photo shows, live shows, advice and tips on the hobby and details of BECF events and meetings
Organises and runs the UK Model Equine Championships and the BECF Newcomers Live Show.
Definition of a BECF member:
This applies to anyone who lives in the UK collects model equines or subscribes to the following publication: Model Horses Unlimited or is in contact with the BECF.
Anyone may receive minutes of meetings or information from the Secretary on receipt of a Stamped Self-Addressed Envelope or makes contact via email.
The committee shall have the right to approve or reject applications for membership or to terminate the membership for any individual or organisation as necessary, subject to having the right to be heard by the committee before a final decision is made.
Magazine Representatives:
These are non-elected roles for those people who represent the following magazines: Model Horses Unlimited (MHU) - BOPAR
The role exists whilst the aforementioned publications are being produced, but will cease to exist if the publications go out of print.
The person has the role whilst they represent the publication, if they hand over to another person, then they automatically step down and hand over to the new representative.

BECF Annual 'Horse Head' Trophy Award:
The BECF Annual Trophy is awarded to anyone who has made a positive or outstanding contribution to the UK Hobby over the past 12 months.

The people who have been awarded the 'horse head' Award it so far are:
1996 - Marian Rickerby and Sarah Clements for their work with MHU and HAPMC and their work in the hobby;
1997 - Ann-Marie Tallis for her work in the BECF and promoting the hobby;
1998 - Awarded to Jackie Radwanski for appearing on Channel 4's Collector's Lot and Sam Helton for the organising the Championships.
1999 - Pam Wakelam for taking over the editing of Model Horse Unlimited (MHU) and her long term role in the hobby
2000 - Caroline Jones for setting up of the British Organisation for Pedigree and Register (BOPAR) and Vanessa Crawley for the production of Horsing Around Magazine.
2001 - Donna Chaney for her continual support for the BECF and the Championships.
2002 - Awarded to Kim Mason for her time and effort she had put into the BECF as her role of Co-ordinator over the past 5 years and Elaine Hagget for her contribution to the Hobby in general and MHU. Paul Dunning was awarded an honorable mention for all his hard work organising and maintaining the BECF Web Site.
2003 - At the 2003 AGM the Tropy was awarded to Paul Dunning for his wonderful work on the first BECF website. Lucie Martin was also nominated for taking on and producing the BECF Top Ten.

2006 - Not Awarded
2007 - Marian Rickerby for all her hard work and support to the UK hobby and Live shows over the years.
2008/2009 - Jackie Radwanski. For her dedication and hard work in keeping the BECF going over the past 18 months and her work as the MECs Director.
