About Country Roads Kennels

  1. Thanks for visiting Country Roads Kennels. We train our hounds mainly to run and tree Black Bear.  When bears go into hibernation for the winter  I train my hounds on raccoons to keep my dogs in shape. We are located in West Virginia where all my dogs so far have been born and raised. In West Virginia we have a year round training season which I know all the arguments but the fact remains the more you hunt the hounds the smarter they are going to be and be in good shape so they can catch the bear.  In this picture is my male UKC Registered English Red Tick Rhino and my Rattlesnake Cur dog Noah who got killed by a big old she bear in July of 2007 on the Shanendoah mountain. Both very young in this picture and have this bear up on the Shanendoah Mountain,WV in 2006 training season with two of my buddies hounds. I hunted with some new fellows this year who had great Redticks. Hunting with them we killed nine bear this season of 2007.  No giants like in years past but some of them weighed in at 250 lbs.  I only have pictures of one of these bear on this site and it was taken with one of the new guys I was hunting withs sons.  I will be adding to this site as much as I can to share with you our pictures, videos,  and new stories of my friends and my adventures in Gods country.  All pictures on this site my friends or myself took. They are from my friends in my own experiences. The only ones I did not take are the ones I am in. This Country Roads Kennel is owned and operated by Josh, Caitie, and Bricen Pletcher and thanks to all the other friends and family that help us out.  We are members of the Purina Pro Club. I can not even get any of my hounds to eat anything else after raising them on it. Please sign our guest book and ask any questions and I will answer to the best of my knowledge if you leave me your email adress. When you leave your email adress please leave it with the message you  leave me because freewebs will not give me your email adress if you leave it where it asks for it.  Notice beside the place for your email adress it says {will be kept private}. May God Bless You and hope the next time we see you is underneath a bear tree! Site was edited on June 01, 2008.
