We are the Robertson Family! Jim, Machielle, Jimmy, and Chelsea! This is just a little about us and how we got started on this great big adventure with boer goats. We started rising goat about nine years ago. Dad and Jimmy went to the stock yards to sell some cattle. Grandpa fell asleep and dad was caught up with some friends. Needless to say Jimmy was busy! Busy waving dad's buyer number that is. He bought a Nubian doe and her two babies before dad even knew it. The four year old was so excited. As soon as the truck pulled in the driveway and the engine was turned off, Jimmy jumped out of the truck, ran for the door and yelled, "Mommy, I got one for you, one for me, and one for sissy!" Soon after that we had to have more. A few years later we bought into the boer breed. Dad always remembers our first buck. "It was is 1999. He was 75% boer and 25% spanish. That old black headed white bodied buck was huge. He weighed about 220 pounds," dad always says. I don't know what men talk about more trucks or boers! In the begining we didn't know alot about the business but thankfully we had some help! It was amazing the first time we had a doe kid. It is still today. That's one of the best things about goats, the experience and adventures. Dad describes our goat past as "You just don't know what you will get until it's here. " Lots of colors and sizes.
