Road clean up

Our club will be doing road-side clean up on April 16th and 18th. We are meeting at Eagle's Nest at 10 am each day. If it is raining we will not be going out on these days. Pack a lunch and drinks for yourself. If you have any questions please let me know. Hope to see you there!

Fundraiser - August 16th 2008

Our Fundraiser will be August 16th this year. It will be at the community building (by the boat launch)at Eagle's Nest Resort from 11am - 3pm. There will be food, beverages, Redneck horseshoes, minnow races, raffle prizes, Club shirts will be available for sale also. Bring the family! We will be going on a "3 hour tour" ride from 4pm - 7pm. When we return we will have a DJ, Z-MuZic from Beloit will be playing. Bring your dancin shoes!!!! We are asking for your help in obtaining donations for our raffle prizes. If you are able to help in any way, please contact me asap as the date is approaching fast.

 $10 entry fee payable at fire house (N10546 2nd Ave Camp Douglas, WI) by 6:30pm on the 2nd.

The ATV Safety class went well. Thank you to all who helped out. We have set the date for our annual fundraiser. It will be Aug 16th 2008. Our next meeting will be July 12th at 9am at Eagle's Nest Resort. We will be going on a club ride together after the meeting. I have Club t-shirts available again. I just want to remind everyone that at our April 12th meeting we will be holding our annual election of club officers. Our club will be holding a DNR ATV Safety class on Mothers Day weekend (May 10th & 11th). Please contact Paul Staege Contact rpstaege@uniontel.net or Gary Everts ge2nobs@yahoo.com if you have someone interested in taking the class. Class size is limited to 30 student, so sign up early! The opening of the Bear Bluff loop will depend on weather conditions. I will keep you posted. Club Dues are again due please send your $10 to: Bear Bluff ATV Club PO box 9, Mather, WI 54641. After April 12th Meeting if anyone is interested in going for a club ride please bring your machine and we will leave shortly after the meeting.


Club up-dates

We are having a short meeting Aug. 4th at 9am to go over the last few things for the Fundraiser being held on Aug 11th. After the meeting if you are planning to ride in the Cutler Fire Dept. ATV poker run there is a group of us leaving from Eagle's Nest. Hope to see you all there!!! I have Club t-shirt and we will be selling them at the fundraiser. We will need members to help us at the fundraiser. We still need someone to run the Redneck Horseshoes, Minnow races, and Lawn Skis. Email me if you'd like to help. Please plan to be to the Community Building about 10am to help set up. Bring your Family, Friends... Heck bring a few people you don't even like! 

May 2007 Meeting notes

The ATV Safety class will be June 9-10th from 9am - 2pm at the community building by the boat launch at Eagle's Nest Resort.

We have ordered new signs and will be putting them up where needed.

Updates

At the next meeting we will be deciding on when to re-open the Bear Bluff loop on the routes. This will depend on how the roads up there look at that time.

We will be holding elections for at our April meeting. Please note the mail in ballot to the left.

Paul Staege will be voting on our clubs behalf at the WATVA conference at the end of the month. Thanks Paul!!

We have set the date for our annual fundraiser! We will be having it on August 11th at the community Building at Eagle’s Nest Resort.

We are working on getting more advertising out for the annual fundraiser. If you have any ideas for where to place ads please let me know. Contact me (Kathy) at kat4@mwt.net or 608-427-6688.

Route Reminders!

The Township of Necedah ordinance states: You may ride the routes of Necedah Township at the age of 12 with ATV certification, but no one under the age of 18 may operate an ATV past 9:00 pm unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. ATVs must abide by the speed limits posted.

The Townships of Finley, Armenia, and Remington ordinance reads that only people with valid driver's licenses may operate an ATV on their township routes. This means no one under the age of 16 can ride in Armenia, Finley, or Remington!

There is a 10 mph Quiet Zone in Sprague and Finley. These areas are clearly posted. They are at a high risk of being closed to ATVs.

ATV Safety class

We are having a DNR ATV Safety class on June 9th. For those of you, who would like to help out, please contact the club for more information.

 

Election Time

We will be holding elections at our April meeting. At this time the position of President will be open. Please come to the meeting or mail in a ballot prior to the next meeting.

Don’t forget to do some pre-ride inspections on your machines. A few things you could check are:

Tires & Wheels: Air pressure, Condition, Axle nuts & Cotter pins.

Controls, Shifter, Breaks & Cables: Make sure they work properly.

Lights & Electrics: Ignition switch, Kill switch. Headlight, Battery,

Taillight, & Break light.

Oil & Fuel: Make sure you have some in the machine.

Chain: check for slack of play, Lubricate chain regularly.

Drive Shaft: check for oil leaks.

Nuts & Bolts: look and feel for loose parts.

Spark arrester/Muffler: properly attached and working. Carbon buildup in the spark arrester/muffler should be removed at least once a year.

Feb. Meeting notes

Updates

Our Club’s Christmas party went well. Thank you to all who helped out, or joined in. Some of the club members played out on the ice. Some went for a ride to visit some of our local businesses that support us.

The Trail Patrol Ambassador class that was held in January went well also. We had to change the location due to the large number of people that were there. We had about 33 people in the class. Thank you to those of you that took the class. I would also like to thank Paul and Gayle Staege for helping out for the day!

We have set the date for our annual fundraiser! We will be having it on August 11th at the community Building at Eagle’s Nest Resort. Please make a note of this date.

There has been talk of the club going on a few rides this summer in different locations. (Black River etc.) Please let us know if there is a location you would like us to go for a ride together.

Relocation for DNR Safety/ Trail Patrol Training

Due to the large number of requests for the training, we have moved the Saturday 1/13 DNR/TPA class to the Necedah Town Hall,101 Center Street , Necedah.  Across from Kwik Trip. in the rear of the Fire Department building.

 CERTIFICATION WORKSHOP

 January 13th, 2007

Cutler, WI

 Located on Hwy 21 east of Tomah and west of Necedah. Turn NORTH onto 2nd Avenue.

 Date: January 13th, 2007   (Saturday) 

Location: Cutler Town Hall, N10846 2nd Avenue, Cutler, WI

 

Time: The DNR ATV Safety Instructor Training will start at 8:00 A.M. Please arrive 15

minutes early to allow time for registration. Instructor Training will run till

approximately 11:30 AM. 

Break for lunch. 

12:30 PM we will begin the TPA training. 

We hope to be finished around 4:30 PM. You do not need to bring your ATV; this is a classroom training session. 

Requirements: Please remember it is required that you be a Certified DNR ATV Safety Instructor to become a Ride Smart Trail Patrol Ambassador. At this training we will offer both sessions. All applicants must pre- register. 

Lunch: If you are staying for both training sessions, lunch will be provided by the local ATV Club/s, we ask for a donation to offset the cost to the club/s.

It’s Party Time!!

Our Club’s Christmas party is January 27th! We will meet at Eagle’s nest at 11am. IF (that’s a big if) there is ice we plan to play out on the lake. At this point it does not look good. So, we will plan on a short ride together. After we get back we will have lunch. There will be chili. (thank you to Denny and Judy Clay) We ask all members of the club to bring a dish to pass. Bring a friend to join in the fun!

 

Castle Rock Family ATV Club Poker Runs

Saturday, January 13th. Due to unsafe ice conditions, this run will take place from Reel Inn on the alternate land route. Registration at 9:30 am, depart at 11:00 am. $10 entry fee. 50/50 payback. 6:00 pm drawing. Food available. The next one will be February 10th If there is ice they will meet at Shipwreck Bay.

 

ATV Safety class

With the help of Paul Staege, we are going to plan an ATV Safety class around the 2nd weekend in June. For those of you who took or have taken the Trail Patrol/Instructor class, and would like to help out, Please contact the club for more information.

 

The next meeting will be February 10th at 9am at Eagle’s Nest Resort. I will be gone, so if anyone wants to be secretary, let me know!J Our election of officers will be at our April meeting. Please keep this in mind if you would like to help our club.

Terry Coplain (Regional Cordinator for WATVA) came to talk with us about updates going on with WATVA, and answer questions we had about the Trail Patrol Class

A Big thank you To Terry to taking time out to visit with us.

We are planning to up date/upgrade some of the signs on our routes.

Our Christmas party will be Jan 27th at the Nest.. I will give you more info after our next meeting. Plan to bring your machine, as we will be "playing" out on the ice (if we have ice)

Bruce will close Bear Bluff Loop on Oct 16th.

September 2006

Our fundraiser went well. Thanks, again, to all who help out!

Kingston routes: Those west of Cranberry Road will be closed for the winter starting on October 15th. Signs will be posted.

We voted to give $100 each to Kingston, Bear Bluff, and Cutler Townships to help with road Mant.

Our next meeting will be October 14th at 9am at Eagle's Nest Resort.

Routes are closed during the shooting hours of gun deer season!!!

Fundraiser next Saterday

The fundraiser is next Saterday. Please try to arive no later than 11am so we can finish setting up. We will be starting the food etc prior to this. Horseshoes start at Noon. Silent auction at 3.

 

Our next meeting will at Eagle's Nest the 9th of Sept. at 9:00 am

 

We have voted to change our monthly meetings to the 2nd Saterday of the month. Please make a note of this.

 

Our next club ride will be on the 26th of August. Please meet at Eagle's Nest at 10am. We plan to leave by 10:30am

Our next meeting will be August 5th at 9 am at Eagle's Nest. Please try to be there as we will be putting the final touch on the things we need to do for the Fund raiser.

The date for the Annual Fund Raiser has been set for Saturday August 12th 2006. We will start organizing for this at the next meeting.

Bruce ordered 6 speed limit signs and put them up in the Bear Bluff area. Thank you Bruce!
