Fall League Program Description

The Fall League is a great way for you to stay in the game in the off-season and stay familiar with your high school teammates.  Get to know your high school competition, keep your skills sharp, and get a chance to play and enjoy volleyball.

The Fall League runs Sundays from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. Sessions run every Sunday, including Columbus weekend. The program is open to any team committed to playing each Sunday from JV level up to teams that can qualify for state tournament play (and win!).

How It Works - The league is seven weeks of competition in a pool play format. Sign up a team of 6 or more of your high school teammates or friends. Eight works well because you’re covered if some week one or two of your players can’t make it.

A pool of four teams plays on each court. Teams are seeded according to ability. Each week teams play all other teams in their pool. First place teams in the pool move up to a higher level pool the following week, last place teams move down. This allows your team to be competitive and play against teams of similar ability. Teams not playing a match help referee or rest.

Sign-Up – One player serves as captain by signing up his teammates on the Fall League Roster Sign-Up form. Talk with your friends about forming a team - if you know of good players, or anyone who might want to play, encourage them to sign up. Talk to your high school coach and ask him or her to help organize your team and encourage them to participate.

If you have a few players who would like to play, but can’t put together a full team; send us your names on the roster form.  We’ll try to put you together with others in the same situation to form a full team. It’s easier to reserve a spot with a full team (6 or more), so try to form one if you can. If your school has enough players, you can form more than one team.

Choose a captain, then fill out the form and return it soon. Indicate on the form the level of your team – JV, varsity, or State Tournament level varsity. Please be realistic – we use this for seeding. Print all information on the form – forms with illegible information will not be accepted.

Basic Skills Program Description

For boys 14 and under, this program teaches the fundamental skills of individual position and team play focusing on proper technique and the rules of play.

There is an emphasis on training that builds the physical capability needed for athletics in general and develops physical movements and skills particularly useful for volleyball.

As the basics are mastered and good technique becomes more natural, the program builds on this foundation by teaching more advanced skills of offense and defense as well as individual position training and playing together as a team.

Coaches develop athletic fitness, strength, motor skills, and volleyball proficiency through individual instruction and a wide variety of structured and fun games and competitions.

Beantown uses experienced coaches to achieve superior athletic and volleyball skills  learned correctly right from the beginning. One has earned the CSCS training credential and ensures Beantown delivers safe and effective athletic development programs.

All coaches are energetic, engaging and supportive and run sessions where sportsmanship, achievement, and fun is emphasized.

No tryouts are necessary, but space is limited.  Contact the Basic Skills director for more information or to reserve your spot:
