Club Overview
Beantown is a non-profit volleyball club for middle and high school boys in the Boston and metro-west area. Founded in 1990, the club is an established member of the New England Region Volleyball Association and the USA Volleyball Junior Olympic Program.
Over the years, Beantown has grown into a vibrant organization that consistently fields strong competitive teams in the New England region and, increasingly, nationally competitive teams. The club regularly sends teams to nationally renowned tournaments throughout the season and the Junior Olympic National Championships. In 2003 a Beantown team finished third in the nation in the club division, and in 2006 we sent a team to compete in the open (highest) division that includes the best 36 teams in the country in its age group.
Beantown coaches are knowledgeable volleyball instructors with years of college and adult league playing experience. Most are high school or college coaches with extensive club coaching experience. They are dedicated to building players’ skills and team strategies beyond what is normally available in school programs.
Our focus is to provide a positive setting where young men can dedicate themselves to improving their volleyball skills in a healthy competitive environment. Building on and enhancing our players’ enthusiasm for the game, Beantown programs teach volleyball skills as well as sportsmanship, discipline, self-confidence, goal achievement, teamwork, and a drive to excel.
Beantown treats its members as serious athletes and we seek dedicated volleyball players who have set goals and are motivated and determined to achieve them through effort, reliable participation and a willingness to learn.
With their enhanced skills, diverse experience, and passion for volleyball, our players deliver superior performance and leadership to their high school teams. Many go on to play volleyball in college and some have obtained partial or full scholarships.
Beantown – a superior extra-curricular choice and a good investment in the future of our young men.
