Bill Blackwell, Bealonians Football Development Officer, was recently a guest of the Football Association at the Community Shield game played at the Millennium Stadium on August 13th 2006 between Liverpool and Chelsea . He was nominated for a Grassroots Football Award by the club to our parent county FA, the Amateur Football Alliance (AFA), who in turn nominated Bill for the FA ‘National Workforce’ Award because of the work he has done in association with them to progress Bealonians to be the first AFA club to achieve FA Development Club status, which builds on the FA Charter Standard award achieved in 2003. Bill (pictured 3rd from right) received his award at half-time on the pitch, as part of the FA award which included the travel, hotel and tickets to the game for Bill and his wife. Bill puts so much of his time and energy into football for the club and the local community, it was a well deserved recognition.Club Season 2005-2006 – Beals land first ever County FA trophy.
