In 2003 Dale Sr. Purchased his first car. He had never driven any type of race car prior to this. He ran the last 5 shows of the season.

In 2004 Dale ran about 7 shows due to a shoulder injury he could not make the whole schedual. He won 2 heat races and had 2 top 5's including a 2nd at the last race. With 4 top 10's. Dale ended up 16th overall in points.

Dale Jr. started racing go karts at the age of 8. As he got older he started helping his cousin Jeff Vandusen on the Empire Super Sprint tour. 2004 was Dale Jr.'s first year racing mini sprints. He finshed 11th in points and 3rd in rookie of the year standings. He had 1 top 5 finish and many top 10's through the year.

2005- Dale Jr. is going to take this year off to help his dad and cousin Jeff. He will be back racing in 2006.
