ASPARTAME - Sugar Substitute Or Poison?
What You Don't Know CAN Hurt You.
What is aspartame?
Aspartame is defined as an artificial, non-carbohyrate
sweetener, 180 times sweeter than sugar (that came out in the
sixties).
Did you know that Methanol (wood alcohol) makes up 10% of
aspartame and is highly toxic?
Where is it found? In diet beverages, breakfast cereals,
desserts, chewing gum, yogurt and even children's vitamins.
Several years ago, I came across an article online (can't seem to
find it these days). It was a page and a half article analyzing the
ingredients of the sweetner - Aspartame. The article may have
been a lie, I don't know. I do know that when I was finished
reading, I was shocked. The bottom line said that this so called
safe sweetener, was basically an insecticide! From that day on,
factual or not, I determined that I would not allow myself, my
children, my family or even the stranger shopping beside me, to
purchase an item that I knew contained aspartame without at
least sharing some of the doubt I now held for the safety of this
sweetener.
Just type in the word 'aspartame' in your search browser and
see what comes up. It's a highly debated subject. There are all
sorts of experts who will tell you it is harmful and there are just
as many who will say that it is harmless. There are hundreds of
such sites online, way too many to list here. Read the
information carefully, then you decide.
Think about the people that you know or have known who have
experienced health problems. Did they or did they not use
aspartame? Think of all the many cases of brain tumors these
days, all the ones that we have known who have had cancer.
Doesn't it seem that it's happening to more and more people?
Doesn't it seem logical that there has to be 'something' causing
it? Something very simple perhaps that lots of us use everyday.
Do cellphones really cause brain tumors? Go ahead, laugh, it
sounds so funny. But what do we really know? At the least,
experts do often agree that it may cause headaches.
I am certainly no doctor; I hold no such degrees. But I am a
woman who had rather have 5 extra pounds of body fat than a 5
pound tumor. I am a mother of two innocent children who
depend on me to keep them safe. Would a mother stand by and
knowingly let her child put something questionable into his or
her body, something that could possibly cause a life long
medical condition or even death? Not this mother. You do the
research and you make your own decision but as for me, I will
never knowingly take such a chance.
