For the Love of Plump
For centuries, no, millenniums, artists have made curves their main source of inspiration. Perhaps most notable is Rubens, the man known for exhalting the large female form and who put the "Ruben" in "Rubenesque." The love for plumpness lasted straight into the 1960s, when a woman with ample hips, buttocks, breasts, and thighs was considered the finest a man could catch. But times changed. By the 1990s, the waif reigned supreme and large lovely women were forced to hit the gym and deny their bodies of the nourishment they so badly required. It seems as though the tide is turning.
With a resurgence of plus-sizes, increases in online searches for "BBW," the coming-out of plus-sized models, and the bump up in Spain of the minimum size to be considered plus-size clothing, there's little proof against the renewed love for large lovelies. This page is dedicated to a sector that has really shown an incredible presence on the Web over the past few years, the next Rubens to grace our aesthetic palate.
I present to you, the artists I revere most highly...
Les Toil
Les Toil is perhaps the greatest friend of the plus-size lady. He not only captures the large woman's beauty with uncanny ability, but finds that extra kernel of spark that makes each of his subjects shine even brighter. Thanks for all you do, Les!
The Art of Size Acceptance
A collective of photographers, writers, and artists, "The Art of Size
Acceptance" brings together a community of those who love women
regardless of how they look.
Gordita pero Feliz
Where else but in a Spanish-speaking country would you find such Big Goddess Worship. This site displays photos and art featuring what else but the curvy beauty. I haven't investigated the site enough, but I believe the guy running this blog draws some incredible series of pictures.
Namio Harukawa
Although some might not consider his subject matter positive, Namio Harukawa revels in erotic drawings of giantess women overwhelming smaller men. With most of his drawings depicting men bound into positions meant to please their giantess dominators, one can only wonder about how overcome he personally was with the desire to be dominated by women.
Mister Reusch
Mister Reusch makes big fun. Not all his images revolve around the female form, but if a woman does appear in his work, they're thick.
Nigel Morgan
Nigel Morgan is an
active plus-size artist, who does all he can in his artistic endeavors
to help place large beautiful women on the pedestal they belong atop.
Ruben Esq.
Ruben is for me the definitive favorite in the realm of plus-size art. Although he works long and hard in the world of animation, he still finds the time to draw what he loves best...big girls. Ruben, you're my idol!
The Fabulous Hilda
Hilda is an original creation of Duane Byers, and her image was readily found in advertisements up until the 1960s. She experienced a short revival in the 1980s, then again in the 1990s with short series that illustrated her playful nature. Always having a good time clad in as little as possible, Hilda captures the free spirit of every season and remains the plus-size redhead of choice by many a large lover.
A Note to the Artists
To all the artists I have featured:
Please accept my humblest apologies in using images from your website on this site. My goal in using them is simple: to promote YOU!
I hope to further spread the word about the good you do, and to tell the world how incredible you are. If I can help you sell but one of your works via this site, I will feel as though I've accomplished something special.
This site is not meant to generate any sort of income, so rest assured that my posting of your images is not meant to benefit me in any way aside from plus-size beauty promotion.
Thank you for understanding.
Respectfully,
