Mrs. Leah London Died:

After a long illness Mrs. Leah London, oldest daughter-in-law of Fannie London – passed away on Friday September 3rd.  She had been in the Sinai Hospital, for about three weeks before her death there.  She suffered with kidney trouble and death was due to the sudden bursting of a pus- sac.  She is survived by her husband Abe London and an eight – yr old son, Melvin.  The late Mrs. London was born twenty nine years ago, in the city of Easton Pa.  She was married in Baltimore in June 1923.

A recent guest at the home of the Stutmans’ was Louis Michelson of Lynn, Mass.

 

            Last week, Philip and Hannah Rosen moved to 4813 Park heights Ave.

 

Mrs. DinaRaisa Rosen spent the New Year holidays at the home of her son, Philip.  Greetings to Philip and Hanna Rosen on their nineteenth wedding anniversary, October 6th.

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

            Laibzig Sussman went to Atlantic City, Monday September 13th, to spend a number of days with Mendel and Sophia Sussman.  He stayed over Yom Kippur.

 

            On Thursday, September 16 Rebecca Sussman attended a reunion dinner & dance at the HarZion Tmeple, Given for the graduates of recent Confirmation Classes.

 

            On Sunday, September 12, Sylvia Sherman returned home from Willimantic, Conn.. She had been there a number of weeks, staying with her aunt and uncle, Ruth and Abe Sussman.

 

            Dr. Samuel Sussman is again serving as editor of the Jewish Current News.

Cambridge, Massachusetts

Farewell party for Mrs. Lillian Goldberg:

            Mrs Lillian Goldberg and her baby, Barbara, were given a party, at the home of her parents Ben and Minnie Greene, on Tuesday night, September 7th.  The occasion for the party was that she was leaving Cambridge – to go to Chicago, to join her husband who is now working there.  Many friends and relatives came to the party to say good – bye and to wish her well.  Ben and Minnie Greene, and Mrs. Goldberg and her daughter – motored to Willimantic to see the Morris Sussmans.  Little Barbara Goldberg entertained them with songs and dances, much to their astonishment and amusement.

            Miss Edith Greene was the guest of Mr. & Mrs. Morris Sussman in Willimantic, Conn. For a few days.  Sam Greene spent his vacation of two weeks, in traveling.  He was at the Exposition in Dallas, Texas.

Johannesburg, Africa

Coming to Johannesburg on Monday, august 16, Mrs, Ray Lurie of Zeerust (Transvaal) visited the Fehler & Flax families.  While in the city – she stayed with the Fehlers.  Jacob Flax was at a lecture on present – day life in Russia.  It was given by two men – who had returned from a recent visit to Russia..  The lecture was given at the Jewish Guild. 

 

Barney Fehler plays on the “B” Soccer Team of Athlone High School which he attends.  In the latter part of August, Herchel Fehler (of Zwartruggens) visited his brother Hacob Fehler.

Mayaguez, Puerto, Rico

Morris Sussman spent a week – end of September 18 at Mayaguez, as the guest of Mr. Antonio Malina, Special Federal – Court Judge for the western half of Puerto Rico.
