The Sussman - Levin families came from Lithuania and Russia to the USA. Many resettled in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. On March 18, 1934 Dr. Samuel Sussman, Hirsh Laib Sussman, and Israel R. Sussman Established "The Sussmanews". A bi- weekly newsletter relating the events of the Sussmans and Levins and their descendants. It continued till 1939, residing at 5238 Parkside Avenue, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The office staff included Miss Florence Sussman, Miss Rebecca Sussman, and Nathan D. Sussman. It displayed articles discussing travels, events, birthdays, and health updates on the wonderful members of the family. I have obtained two original copies of these newsletters (on display on this web site) and would love to find more. Now I have 4 books being copied to put on CD for other family members. I am still looking to complete the set and make them all into CDs.
The purpose of this web site is to continue what they started in hopes to bring us together and update our genealogy. Currently the family is made up of well over 6 thousand individuals. I have put together with lots of help a family tree that continues to grow every month with new contributions of information from various different lineages.
All assistance is appreciated and I hope not to impede on privacy but improve our knowledge of our heritage and legacy. That our family always knows were they came from and lest no one be forgotten.
