Baseball History in Oldham and Rochdale

This site is probably the most definitive history of Baseball in the Oldham and Rochdale area from the first game between Branka and Cowley in June 1931 to the creation of Oldham North Stars in 2006. It incorporates the professional game between 1935 and 1939 which included the great Oldham Greyhounds and Rochdale Greys Clubs and also looks at amateur champions Ferranti Sparks and a host of other amateur adult and youth teams.

All in all some record or other has been found of 21 teams locally, 14 in Oldham and 7 in Rochdale. No doubt there were more.

The history of the game in this area is clearly incomplete and if and when more information comes to light it will be added. If you have any helpful information please contact northstars@tiscali.co.uk
