THE EMERALD NECKLACE GIRLS FASTPITCH SOFTBALL ASSOCIATION

The Emerald Necklace Girls Fastpitch Softball Association ("ENGSA") was  incorporated in 1993 as a non-profit 501c-3 entity.  ENGSA's primary function is to operate an ASA affiliated Fastpitch Softball League for girls from 9 to 18 years of age.

The organization takes its name from the group of county parks which winds throughout Cuyahoga County, providing green-space for conservation and education as well as recreational activities for its residents.  Member communities of the ENGSA include all cities within the County as well as those that border Lake Erie or another member community.

For the 2009 season, Emerald Necklace Softball will see upwards of 140 teams play fastpitch in 4 divisions (10U, 12U, 14U and 18U).  National Federation of High School rules are used, with some modifications in the 10U and 12U divisions.  Teams play a regular season schedule of approximately 14 to 18 games versus other community based teams in their age-peer group.  This is followed by a season ending tournament in each division.
