Morphettville Racecourse
Morphettville is the largest of three racecourses in the Adelaide metropolitan area. It is the venue for the Adelaide Cup, an annual horse race held in May which still warrants a Public Holiday in S.A. The Glenelg line passes the main entrance to the racecourse. There is a paved platform in each direction, where trams make special stops on race days. Morphettville still generates additional traffic for the trams. However in the days when all men wore hats and horseracing was a very popular pastime, the situation here could be much more hectic. Special sidings were installed on the north side of the line, which held large numbers of extra trams needed to cope with the crowds at the end of the day's events. Race Specials also ran through to Morphettville from some of the other tram routes around the City. These were the only occasions when other types of Adelaide tram car (smaller than the H-class) would be seen operating on the Glenelg line.

Morphett Road
The tram stop at Morphett Rd is adjacent to Glengowrie depot and is the relief point, where crews change over. The City-bound platform is in the usual position, just after the Morphett Rd level crossing, while the platform for the Glenelg direction is a short distance away, located inside the triangle of tracks which provide access to and from the depot. Signals are provided on all tracks around the Morphett Rd stop to ensure safe working into and out of the depot. The signal structures are modified street traffic lights, different to other parts of the tramline and are radio controlled by approaching trams.

Glengowrie Depot
For the first 57 years of their lives, the H-class trams were accommodated at the City Depot in Angas Street, just off Victoria Sq. In 1986 the depot was relocated to purpose-built facilities at Glengowrie, between Morphett Road and the Sturt River Linear Park. The City Depot was re-developed for other uses. Trams can access Glengowrie Depot from both the Glenelg and City directions by means of a triangular layout. Most tram movements into and out of the depot are in the Glenelg direction, although there are several which go directly to or from the City (including the first car into service on weekday mornings, scheduled to depart the Morphett Rd stop at 05.32). The opening of Glengowrie Depot on 19 October 1986 also co-incided with the changeover of the H-class from trolley pole to pantograph operation, eliminating the chore of changing poles at each terminus. The overhead line had been gradually modified to accept pantographs in the period before conversion, along with a number of H-class cars to ensure enough trams were available with the new equipment to operate the first day's service. For a time, the trams retained one old trolley pole as well the new pantograph in case unforeseen problems developed. All trolley poles have since been removed.
